JJ Abrams a make or break for Star Trek?

What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

Man, why is everything that inexpensive in the US?

I paid roughly 24$ for my ticket and Coke and popcorn. And that was a regular multiplex cinema in Hamburg (in the big premiere hall though, 1001 seats).

PS: So... that single cinema hall has enough room for almost the entire Enterprise-D crew? Fascinating. B)

*Cough* 10 dollars for a Imax ticket and $1.50 for soda.  For that matter bring your own soda for $0.60 outa a machine

Cinemas in Germany need the money though, because less and less people are watching movies at cinemas. DVDs and Blu-rays seem to be preferred nowadays.

i know it such a joke, the imax in the UK is about 20 dollars just to see a film, popcorn and a drink will sent you back another 10 dollars as a combo...

i mean a 500ml bottle of drink is now $1.50 now... or £0.99 in the so called Great British Pound...

Fuck all great about it...

the funny thing is, 1.25l is only £1.29!

Ive got to say that Im a 2nd generation trekie. I have seen all the series and movies except this one...well actually I have seen it and got so disgusted I stopped paying attention so I kinda saw it...

If I wanted to watch "star wars" like battles Ill watch star wars..

Anyways they should have called this incarnation of star trek "lets rewrite everything and throw out allmost everything old trek"...

For a trek movie I give this movie and F- (thats a F negative btw)...for an action blockbuster I guess an B would be my rateing....

Now I have to say I am a fan of many dif sci-fi....form BSG and B5, SG1, TSCC, Red Dwarf, and all the star trek incarnations except crapaprise..But I liked all these dif shows for there differences....I dont like when writers and producers see all these dif elements from dif shows....the elements that make those shows good....and then toss them in a blender then toss the contents of tthe blender against the wall and then use what sticks to the wall as there inspiration.

I think thats what disgusted me the most about this latest incarnation....I had no idea what I was watching...all I knew was that it was crap for me...

Thats my 2 or 3 cents about it...or should I say $17.50.....

Oh and to answer the topic?...Star trek lives on...not just on the big screen or on TV...its all over...Star Trek has be mainstream for hell 40 years now all most? Gene Rodenberrys Ideas live on..the franchise lives on...Do people realise Trek hasent broken or isnt made..yes of course....Do i think trek will be as ever popular as it once was....maybe for a short time but then it will get old real fast....Times have changed.....A good example of it is how DS9 became dark as did voyager ...thats what they had to do with those shows to keep them going....This new incarnation?...It wont last....Im giving this new incarnation the title of "its broke but no one realises it" as scotty( james dohan) once said..."if it aint broke dont fix it"....

Ok Im done now.....and now back through the looking glass....
