No no no... I'm absolutely certain that it's probably in the neighborhood of 237-312 KB/s, with spikes on Tuesdays up to 14220-18720 KB/m.  :whistling:

Well don't confuse your ping times with bandwidth.  Those are two different things.

If you see "220ms" on your friend's hosted game that is the response time that it takes for your computer to communicate with theirs.  That's not the bandwidth.

For a really rough estimation just watch your packets sent and packets received on your connection summary and get a rough feel for what's average while you play.

Well I know XBL uses like 20 - 40 MB an hour... and this game is not real demanding like Xbox games. So it may be very little. I'm thinking no more than 5 - 10 MB an hour. I'll have to test this soon.

Unleash Mayhem wrote:Yes, modding will change your gamer version so you can't play with us :(. But games use very little bandwidth. I don't know for sure, but it's something about 20KB/s maximum for almost any game. FO would be less than this.

That sounds about right, I would have to test this to confirm. I also keep my original files, so I can replace the modded ones when I want to play online. I don't like warp-in ships, I would rather build them.  :whistling:

Dom and I are looking into hamachi 2, the new version of hamachi that was taken over by logmein.  My thoughts are that maybe we just need to have more than one way of getting together.  So we could have wippien and hamachi.  Between the two, that should work for people.  They each have their issues, but at least hamachi is simple to add, and at least half the people had no problems with it.  It might take longer to figure out which one we'd play for a particular game, but I'm just grasping at straws right now.  Wippien works for most people, and maybe hamachi would work for the rest, is what I'm hoping.
