Preview: Veteran Abilities

It seems like a lot of people here are only interested in "new" things, and quickly lose interest in those things once they arrive. It's just "I want this, I want that, I want t'other!" all the time.

How about just play 3.0.5a for now, and be happy with that? There's loads of amazing stuff, hundreds/thousands of hours of fun gameplay. Anything that gets released in the future is just a BONUS. So why not try being patient?

it's not "I want" as  a stand alone. It is through the I wants that we have 3.05a..... what ure happy with today is a culmination of all the I wants since the V3 PR.

i wants help in moving FO forward instead of stagnating like the other mods.

That's not my point. How about reading my post?

The problem is that people are ONLY interested in the "I want"s, quickly forget about what's already been done, and keep pestering "When is the next one gonna be released?". How unappreciative do you think that looks?

or it looks flattering.. that they're so thrilled about what has been built so well with their accepted ideas that they are requesting more of the same good thing, while still savouring what has been done thus far.

The models look awesome meanwhile. They are damn near to the series' CGI graphics... but the phasers and disruptors are still looking so primitive... I hope they'll also get a fancier appearence soon.

I like the visuals thus far. all look cool - weapons and the CGI hulls.

look forward to seeing more cool veteran stuff.

yeah, at maximum zoom the phasers in stock armada2 looked a bit crappy to me

phasers are not orange.

They look fine the way htye are atm.
the mods do have some reworking for such visuals. we ought to wait for that. Atm we are dealing with veteran abilities so let's try not to get off topic.

more to the point, I was curious if the veterans are going to lose or retain the special they gain as double gold bar ships.... for example the neghvar gets a special torpedo...

Will it then have the heavy disruptor and the augmented torps or does it lose the torps and get the disruptor.
would be cool if it could retain both...

Actually, i´m a little bit scared about some ship types being veteran. Omg, a veteran tavara, or a dreadnought, oh my.

And i can´twait to see what will happen to the borg. I know they won´t have veteran ships (they have no expto start with), but something IS going to happen. 

Any chance that we get a little clue or something ? *begging on my knees*

A vet tavara!!! Cbos and I were on a team, and he got a double Gold Tavara only about 45 mins. into the game.  That would be scary. 

Im still wondering, can you upgrade to Vet status in the field, or do you have to build a Vet ship?
