Got a veteran Descent last night.  a whopping 114 defense if i recall correctly.  My, that baby could sit and take some damage.  Sent a fleet of Miranda II, 2 Descents, and a couple of support craft into an enemy base.

The veteran Descent and a veteran Miranda were the only two to make it out alive but the enemy base was decimated.

Having just read about the Akira ability going to have to try and train up one of those babies.
