Sorry for the late reply but I would suggest a re-name, as there is a TMP era vessel called the Okinawa class.

Is that a canon vessel? I have never heard from that particular class before in canon.

A quick search on the net delivered this Okinawa class - Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki but the FO crew tends to ignore fan based designs (including those from games)

There is a mentioned from an USS Okinawa, but there is no mention what class the vessel belongs to.
Edit: Correction, according to memory Alpha the USS Okinawa was an Excelsior class vessel.

Idon't think the Okinawa Class has ever appeared outside a few games, so it would only pose a problem for people who add the TMP ship to their game.

It has about as much canon impact as the Mediterranean Class, which was only mentioned in the Tech manuals (USS Wyoming & USS Lalo).

agreed, i'd never heard of that tmp okinawa, it has low impact. its memory beta article isnt very long either.

Yep, there is no TMP Okinawa in Fleet Operations lore. Wo do usually only take sources from the shows as canon. As the Fleet Operations universe is quite old (we started to develop the stories over a decade ago), conflicts are unavoidable. In general, we try to avoid conflicts, but if they happen, canon comes first.

Everyone, despite the fact that we sometimes have a tendency to be blunt, appreciates the input on the Okinawa.
Since the vessel is not canon though and only portrayed in fan based and games i don't see a problem with using the name for this (hopefully soon to be introduced) mixed tech unit.
