I am liking this project.

So do I, I loved it!

Why are all my concepts taken? Its like as if I work to slow to ever keep a title! :pinch:

To be totally honest it isn't the most original concept (no offence to anyone) and as such I am sure 100 people have thought something similar to this up. Even I have myself in the past, considering I've been in the Armada Community since 2001. So I very much doubt the concept has been stolen from you, just another modder being on the same wavelength and came up with this at around the same time as was just a bit quicker at implementing it.

Hey you'll probably find something even better to do, or continue on your project (nothing wrong with two projects very similar) or join forces to get it done faster.

I actually might want to climb on board for this mod as soon as next demo for Sigma is done. I'd love to help out with 8472 since I think their race was half-assed in stock A2. I'd also like to see the Breen in there somewhere... (either a Dominion avatar or a full race I suppose).

- Species 8472 (now going be known as Sra'Xa'Diin)

The real name for 8472 is the Undine. Besides, Undine is quicker to type, and alot easier to pronounce, instead of 'Sra'Xa'Diin.

In the stock, they had to be half-assed. If the Battleship had it's canon Cube-killing power, imagine what the Behemoth would be like...

right another quick update. this time is a look into the regen mode (and some early dodgy experimental glows)

while in regen mode the bioship can not move or fire but it does heal a lot quicker (not sure if i should make going in and out of this mode cost resources yet)

Very nice, it's going to be awesome to see a fully playable 8472 race, other than the half attempt that Mad Doc did with stock.

Certainly keeping my eye on this one.

well technically i would like new meshes for the 8472 ships as they look dated and low poly compared to other races (esp the behemoth)

I really think for stock ships, textures are the biggest hold back. I have been doing a A2 mod of the Cardassians and a lot of the models in that mod, I did using stock ships, just updating the meshes slightly and using better textures.

8472 and the Cardassians were actually the best meshes available in stock A2.

Also considering removing the LOD from the model, as these days with the stock meshes and the speed of PCs the LODs aren't needed.

yh the lod are removed and i'm currently using the updated 8472 textures (they look much better) but the meshes look too blocky (mainly the cannon area
