Its one of the many unwritten rules that these questions arn't asked since most people find it rude. He will tell us only when HE is ready to and not a moment earlier. Thats how this works.

Is this something that goes with Fleet Ops or is it separate

Its in the FO modding section so what do you think? lol Ofcourse its for FO.

Co clue when it will be done, but it goes with FO, and as far as I know, we are just starting to put all the pieces together.

I understand that this isn't something currently available, but when it is, how will we use it? I'm not very tech savvy and dont know much about modding. I mean, will it be a separate download and just work when you open FO? Or will it be included in a patch, and somehow both will run from FO screen display thing? Will it be offered through this site?

I'm not much of a mod person this is really the only one I have so pretty clueless here haha.

But yeah, definitely excited to see this and the battlestar (Zaxxon's) mod coming out for FO, can't wait for each. Playing all eras of trek would be awesome.

Hope things are going well with it.

it will probably install over a fleetops install.

fleetops can be installed multiple times on a computer, creating separate directories with installs. the mod will probably be made so that you just copy it over a fleetops install. then that particular fleetops install will have the mod when you start it.

an alternative is that it will have its own installer, which will do all the work for you, probably still requiring the a2 disk.

Yeah, most likely, it will be installed over a clean copy of FO 3.1.X.

Sounds intresting. Can't wait to see it

The mod will need a new, clean install of Fleet Operations, most likely with the latest patch. Currently it uses the latest, 3.1.5 patch, so you'll have to use that, because it crashes with earlier versions for some unknown reason. I checked it. The mod comes with an installer which simply installs everything and then all you have to do is to start the game (this will overwrite all of your previous modding stuff though).

To answer the "when" question: I'll release when it is complete. I really would like to finish the first version (which will contain only the Feds) in this year and release it as the part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Star Trek Armada II. Yeeeeesh, the game is that old!
But everything depends on how much time the modders have to work on. I had very little time recently because I had to learn a lot, and my assistants have their own projects to work on. We'll see what can we do :)

And I'm not posting updates for two reasons:
1. Recently the most updates in the mod are not visible. ODF coding, tooltips, the manual etc.
2. I have a few surprises in the mod I just don't want to reveal just yet, so I don't make updates about them

btw, I have had a chance to look at it and will post another question at the other forum. :D :sweatdrop:

Do you have your own site for this mod? I'd really like to see some detailed info about it.

I had, but I was lazy to update it  :sweatdrop: And the concept changed too much anyway during the years. But I'll try to find some time between two exams and give something more detailed for you

Thank you very much, especially considering that you're very busy. Just wondering, with the klingons, were you going to put in the k'lsarza or something similar? I've always wanted to see a giant, longer necked version of the k'tinga. Something that could hold it's own against the heavy hitters of the other races.
Are you keeping as canon as possible or are you putting non canon stuff in there too? like the excelsior II and the luspet?

I believe he isn't going for canon ships, but he is trying to keep the timeline canon.

Actually, I did not start to work on the Klingons just yet. I'm focusing on the Federation and the Romulans. But I have a list about which Klingon ships I may want to use. But it's a bit too long at this time, almost 200 different classes
But the K'lsarza is one of the "Must haves", so you'Ll definitely see her in the mod

Awsome, I can't wait! :D Ok, at the risk of being annoying, I have one last question.
this mod will be for version 3.1.5 right? I have 3.2.2, will I have to uninstall that and switch back to the older version?
