What's missing from Dominus's Mega-Guide?

Besides the obvious lack of a completed Borg strategy section (and the absence of one for Dominion and Klingon), is there anything that anyone thinks must be put in... or anything that would be a good idea to improve/have available? Basically, I'm just wondering what can be improved to make the strategy guide more useful to Flops players  :sweatdrop:

How about, trying to survive from a spam numbering at 130 ships? I was devestated by that move! I want to know survival techniques. (FYI, they were all Norexans)

Hmm, you are talking about AI strategies aren't you? The guide merely covers online gaming (PvP) I'm afraid... I don't think I want to delve into AI strategies because playing against the AI really is... imo of course... lackluster (no real strategy other than spam the cheapest most effective units until you get a foothold, then conquer).

What about good combinations of allys. Thats good. Dommie for dreadnaughts with feds for warpin and repair?

Also maybe a section on how to help your ally. This would be a good thing for the ally combination.
  • If you or your ally as a race that's weak at begining (say Borg) choose a race thats good at the beggining (like puretech, klingons or Romulan

  • Get a few talon refits at your allys expansions so they dont have to research cloak detect

  • Join his fleet for attack at the or attack someplace else to spread enemy's fleet

  • See who your enemy's race is to help you decide yours

  • Maybe have you and your allys all be feds sou you can double, tripple, or even quadruple warpin

  • Only you attack so your ally can build up and finish the game

  • Think about the different kinds of mixed tech you and your ally will get
Also maybe a section for "bad combinations" like Borg and Borg. No mixed tech and weaker beginnings.

Also a part on when to ram or not to ram for bugs (Do you have that? Havent got to Dommie section)

what is so bad about 2 borg beeing in one team? if they are both good, its pretty devastating.

Nothing in particular, but there's a lot to be said for "when to run away" in a battle. i.e. you might win it, but it'll cost you so many ships you're going to have weakened yourself for a "2nd wave", perhaps from their ally.

I only point it out since someone who comes to PvP from playing the AI will probably have better "tactics" (i.e. understanding how to use your ships range, cloaking hit and runs, weapon arcs) than he will have a grasp of strategy (knowing when to do the early hit and runs, knowing when to tech up, "battlefield maneuvers" such as pincers movements, diversionary attacks, etc)

Bear in mind though I'm pretty shit at FO, so feel free to ignore everything I've got to say

You're right. They can bedevestating, but by doing that you take a gamble. No mixed tech and weak begginings. It's easy for a klingon, or romulan player to rush you and take you out.

Hey.  ::) Got another idea. You know me allways forgettin stuff. What if we made a printible checklist.

            1. Before consruction of construction ships set the atonomy to your choosing.
            2. Select ship and start minning
            3. Select other ship and build shipyard
            4. Immediatly que up 4 freighters
            5. The shipyard should be done. Que up ships!
            6. A freighter should have been built by now. Send it to mine.
            7. Minning base should be done. Build next one
            8. Dont forget those freightors!
            9. Time to research. Build a research station
            10. Minnings done, send it to expansion and que up 4 freightors

You know... something like this to help us remember what to do and help us multitask.
