the galaxy and the nebula class hips are one of the most resource costly ships. i don't think they will be built, akira's and alike are much faster to build

the sovie is the most expensive ship ever built by feds because of all the stuff they've put in it. i mean it's phasers are same 1s used on a starbase. :omg:

so don't just say it ain't built any more because its expensive, there are more expensive ships out there which are still in production :P

Actually type 13 Phasers are used on starbases.

But sovie is MUCH better than galaxies or nebulas so its ok if its just a tag more expensive :P

Actually back to why you wouldn't just want a fleet of Sovereigns (in game) the Excelsiors have long weapon range, and their torpedos hit medium targets more often. If you're fighting say the klingons (lots of short range weapons) then Excelsiors are the way to go!

galaxies are starfleets largest ship and carrys alot more labs and such making it a some what better explourer. In one of my star trek books it said they put the ship bake into production plus the ship was built to stay in service for a 100 years so that would mean it could be upgraded.

Alot of ships wind up with a life span like that. That doesnt mean that they still produce miranda or excelcior. Even though they are still in service and have had the sh*t refited out of them.

If any of you have that Star Trek Fact Files you will find out that the neb is the cheapper replacement to the gal class, the neb class has all the scence labs that a gal class has as well as the weapons, that "pod" it has just above the sorcer section can be replaced with a weapons pod or a sencer pod depending on the roll needed, the main down side with the neb class is that its shield system is alot weaker then the gal class as there was a lack of space making its main roll a science ship, hence this class is used for long ranged science missions and going on info from offical scorces (ie Fact File updates, games ect...) is still being made for that purpus. The sov class costs the feds WAY to much to keep on making them hence out of the info I have found out of the class on the net at max there are 2 or 3 of them "currently" in service.

We know rageypeep, at least I know. Thats why sovern and galaxy need a limit and Nebula doesn't.

not a ship limit but just a longer building time so that you can't creat a fleet very fast of sovs
posted on May 31st, 2005, 6:16 pm
No a limit because only 3 soverns were EVER made.
