Well if your only allowed a few soverns, I would think most would want them more powerful.

I dont think they should limit the sovies, I mean klingons have only a few neghvars as well and they arent limited.

What the hell limit ALL the ships, or better yet make them all one of a kind, sort of heroes, than we can all pretend we are playing commandos and not FO the game I came to love :rolleyes:

i think all of the ships in fo are pretty weak... send them all down the FO gym to toughen them up :D

You can't limit all the ships, because most classes have hundreds of commissioned ships. The idea is to limit the larger ships that are limited in ST. Such as the Norexan, Sovern, Galaxy, Negh'var, etc.

I think the point behind limiting the galaxies and other ships is that they are NOT produced anymore, sovies are :P

if the sovie isn't limited whats thepoint in the other ships.

Limit the ones that are limited in the ST universe. They dont send 5 soveys to patrol because they don't have that many. They do however have 50 nebula classes, so those wouldn't need to be limited. You don't see Klingon fleets consisting of only negh'vars, but you DO see a single Negh'var and a buttload of Vorchas and BoPs.

Khmm think about it this way: With limiting feds and klingons other races have a HUGE advantage, rommies have a lot of warbirds so they shouldnt be limited same for the borg and the dominion in v3 too. So there is a 1vs1 battle and fed player can have like 3 sovies and the opposing borg or romulan player 16 battleships???, not just battleships, but CUBES or warbirds :mellow:

the starships warped in by starfleet command are units which are either too rare or are no longer produced. cause Sovereign Class starships are still in production they are constructed from a normal yard

warbirds are misleadingly weak for a ship of its size, besides it's gonna take a fleet of ships to take a cube down anyway. for this game i think you should put a credit count on the cube class ships.

in my second installation of fo i did a little odf editing (mainly fed borg & klingon a couple of rommie ships as well) all i changed were the hull & shield points, resource costs, mixed and matched some special & standard weapons and put premonition in for the feds. also changed the bop/kvort pulse to the rommie pulse, took away credit count of all stations & research and put them on some of the ships instead. i think it works quite well(will finish doing the rommies soon) :)
won't touch the noxter because they make my game crash for some reason :huh:

with permission and if someone tells me how i'll post the changed odfs so others can have a look B)
