acs torps only fire when excel 2 uses its special. excel 2 never used their special so acs never fired.

bortas ftw lol

Oh yes, seeing the Bortas in action was just beautiful.  The destruction of BGs Dom fleet was spectacular.

A lesson to be learnt, if its late game and you are against klingon and they are in a good position, don't leave a whole bunch of ships clumped together sitting around doing nothing.

EDIT: Actually just never have a whole bunch of ships just sitting around doing nothing is probably even better advice.

Well, it was really nice to see not pure dist rhienn spam. Butters really did a fair play, and cannot be accused of spamming them, but it still doesn't changes the fact that the klingons are completely lacking a counter aginst them.  :'(

Mod: Before anybody shouts my face off, I don't say klingon vs romulan is imbalanced, you can get the roms ass before they get the critical numbers (about 7+), but after that... it's really hard. Maybe the neggies, but I'm not sure that they work either.

There is no other way for me to explain his huge fleet loss in the end oO

If he kept his akiras and switched to Monsoons a bit earlier things might be different...not to speak about those two wasted warpins...anyway Butter did the better game here. Eventhough he had to used e2  ^-^

I can explain it really, he didn't manually target for most of the match. He just let his ships attack whatever low-defense ship was nearby. Unfortunately for Funnystuff, Akiras and Torp Nebs are countered by both the E-1 and the Intrepid with a defense passive. Which were the two lowest defense except for Butter's occasional Monsoon. Lesson here is: make sure you target ships that don't take reduced damage from your ships.
The Canaverals were a bad idea too, since they have such terrible offense that the ADAI support weakness is barely enuff and on E-1s the long range negates some of the ADAI weakness. They are also very well-countered by E-2s and Phaser Platforms.

Drrrr is right about the Monsoons, as those counter Galaxies, E-2s, E-1s, Phaser Platforms, and are only slightly countered by Intrepids. Proximity torpedo can also assure a kill nearly every engagement with enuff Monsoons.
Another possible ship is maybe the Remore, as it counters both E-1s and Intrepids, is not countered by anything the Feds have, and has precise volley that's 3 times that of a Torp Neb and can be done twice in a row almost.

I'd probably have tried to get the hidden Constructor on sight.

Hmmmm...... interesting plays Butter and Clint.

As always I am much too focused on modding and Single Play. But hey, its my problem. Sometime I'm goign to release a gameplay video. Just I want to get good against AI so I don't look bad.

EDIT: Who knows how to divide videos into Youtube Acceptable clips?

nice match, i cant believe how that changed hands.

kvort spam was kinda poo, and nearly won it, then klinks stayed at kvort spam too long, allowing rhienn spam to win.

should have teched to vorchas earlier. would have finished game.

also roms changed strats a lot. started with unrefit rhienns, then gens, then refit rhienns

i think this was in reaction to kvort spam tho. a fun game.

Hehe, that's why K'Vort spam in the long term seals its own fate - you only gain half the rank up supply with it   ^-^

Twas a nice game

i loved the way that clint munched so many of butter's con ships, so butter came back later and made sure to kill clint's last con ship lol.

that actually happened in that 2v3 replay recently where bug spam became a liability. people seem to forget that higher tier ships are usually better, save for some serious hard counters. maybe monsoon spam could beat e2 spam if used properly. or leahval spam stop luspet spam.

klinks are one of the races u dont often tech up as. its rare to see higher than vorcha in online play. maybe thats cos field yard and battle yard are really strong and can finish game, just like gens.

its funny gen spec spam can start and finish a game on it's own, assuming u can handle their slow speed with good micro and tactics.

Also assuming your enemy don't spam something like Intrepids, LuSpets, S-2 Escorts, and so on  :whistling:

actually i tested fed intrep spam and warpins vs spec spam on fued (where the low speed wasn't crippling) and i didn't micro at my best, and still only lost 1 or 2 specs. i would decloak right on top of feds so got kills every single time. my mining got whacked by clever warpins, but it didn't matter as specs are so cheap. the fed fleet couldn't grow to a critical mass as i kept taking ships out each time. yet the spec swarm just grew and grew. the intreps taking reduced damage didn't matter as i could always kill at least 1. and lost ships myself rarely. if i had paid more attention to micro i could avoided any losses. combat cloak is just incredible. the problem isnt that the specs do too much, its that they dont die. ever. u cant rely on crippling the economy as they are so cheap. i guess u can choose a big map. and just avoid battling the specs, but they can cloak. and eventually they will come and find you, and decloak on top of you, and u wont get away in time. building any gens makes me feel dirty lol. roms can win without them.

My problem was supply, I couldn't get enough to make up for my ship losses.  I did a few all-in goes at Butter's mining and couldn't recover the losses.  The staying power of the Disruptor R's sealed the deal.  I hesitated against vorcha's because of the passive.  In hindsight, it might have been the way to go.
