You remember how blasted long it took to get my sphere out?  Now, why do you think THAT was...?

Still even if you guys had trade resoruces so you could get an early sphere, me and funny still had a big enough fleet that a sphere wouldnt of been a problem

We realized it before then, we were just on Teamspeak so you couldn't hear us.  I only pointed it out in text to you once we actually needed to start trading resources ....

Really great game.  I'm starting to think that maybe the borg should just stick to scubes and dodes for a while, a sphere by itself doesn't do much.  There seems to be a bit of a hole in Borg's development there, maybe spheres should be made cheaper and weaker or adaptors should be made more viable even without adaption.

Good job on both sides, if more borg ships had escaped and they had seized more expansions, the battle would have been quite even.

adaptors are already ok without adaption, they are just stronger with it.

a common example is vorcha spam, the torps wont miss much, so the adaptor will do ok. works good vs warbird spam too. as u can make several adaptors, the special of the cehlaer will have to work harder to keep your fleet stunned.

Yes, but a big dynamic shift occurs between scubes and spheres.  You can't afford to lose either one, so scubes can escape using their ludicrous speed (for the borg).  Then you get to spheres and they keep from dying with their insane HP regen.  Dodes are awesome, but they have to sit behind something so your main fleet can't consist of them.  The adaptor is slow, but with adaption modules it fits in with the tanky borg ship.  Without adaption, it's too slow to escape a losing battle.  Unless you've already reached a bigger fleet size than your opponent with scubes (which is VERY hard to do) your adaptors are going to be murdered.

vorcha or warbird rush may be an exception because they'll have fewer ships, but as a warbird rusher myself I can tell you the strategy is NEVER used unless they have an ally spamming smaller ships.

actually ive seen people do warbird rush while ally did vorcha spam  this invites adaptors with their graviton torp weapons. which dont miss as much.

Why not go Torp Assims instead of adaptors?

that would work too. but mainly if u are assim avatar. for opti u may not be able to afford it that early. so u need something to bridge the gap. a couple adaptors wouldnt do too bad.
