lol a one part replay. thats the quickest game i've ever seen.

that first assim was a 2blue 1 regen assim i think. not 2blue 1 torp. it had microtech passive.

its just a shame that halfala went assim, dominion can rape asism so easy with s2. against opti they have to be more clever.

Mass S2 works very well against Opti too. Best strat for Opti Borg agaisnt S2 spam is fast Sphere, imho.

That is why it is most efficient to go with a Beam, Torp, and Regen Assim - that way you can also get out a Probe and a Scube at the same time, instead of putting all your eggs in one basket

Not true at all - S2 can be quite easily countered by Borg (either Opti or Assim). We've been seeing this rumor spreading for the past month, yet every time someone asks to prove it to me they lose all those S2 without even a single Scout Cube dying. If it's so overpowered, it should never (or rarely) fail at all.

Same thing that's always worked (the strategy hasn't changed for 4 patches now): standard Scout Cube / Probe Start, then keep spamming SCubes as long as the Dominion opponent builds S-2. After that it's just your micromanagement.

thing with that is, after choosing avatar assim most players make their first assim fast, assimilate players rarely wait and see what their enemy is doing, as they wanna pile on the pressure early. if u wait and see what strat the enemy is going for u lose the ability to pressure as early. or you lose your scout.

i never said s2 was op against assim avatar, i said that usually s2 will beat an assim player, as most assim players wont deviate from making assims, which is their downfall.

going breen against borg is good. if they make assims, u make s2, if they make spheres, u make breen cruisers. if they make scubes u make bombers. if they make em scubes, mix your fleet. if they make scubes u can also try earlier than usual t15. fast t15 will probably leave u unable to defend yourself.

Yesturday I sucessfully rushed the V-13s while the AI was still on Cruisers..... hard to explain since most details were a blur. However I remember thinking it would be excellent to see in a replay. Would someone like beta-testing my strategy?

the qawduj built from the kahless station has longer build time and is the same ship basically. it helps against intrep/bug spam as its another support ship out on the field. plus the qawduj is generally useful anyway. make a couple and tech to polaron field, its awesome. building it from kahless station doesnt give u access to level 2 and 3 specials.

Do you mean that the research station isn't build, so can't research; or that the starbase-built ship doesn't have the 2nd and 3rd specials? I'm pretty sure my Starbase-built Qaw'Duj get the specials after I research (and I really like using Qaw'Duj.)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply you stated that - thank you for the clarification . Indeed, if people do not scout, then it matters naught what strategy they use

It's the same ship, just has a different build time (twice as long).  I think myles was getting at that when you build it, it has a different odf file for the first rank, due to the different build time.  Completely the same ship besides that, and then I believe it uses the normal rank 2 odf when it ranks up.

i perhaps wasnt too clear about this. the qawduj u build is the same qawduj, just takes longer to make.

once u finally build armoury and do researches these ships will get their level 2 and 3 specials too. they just dont start with them, as ray seemed confused about.

The problem is is that by the time you get your scout down or even see what race he is, you could be going for early sphere, dodes or assims. And if you dont get enough scubes out in time you are dead

The new replay by Yandonman is an interesting game.  Although for some reason YouTube was giving me some grief with playing part 2.

I won't spoil the outcome but it was interesting to see 2 Borg on the same side.  Would have been a better game if one player hadn't made such bad starts with their economy... i don't know whether this was part of a strategy or just an error.... they may have something to say about it themselves.

Despite the lack of trading (which does a number on Borg here  ) really good team play coming from Ray and Funnystuff 

Incidentally Funnystuff, I didn't say it would stop the standard Borg start easily, I just said it's a strategy other than SuS'a' or early QaW'duj which you can use to counter it
