I think Trac beams should be on all construction and repair ships ships.... it makes them more important as before (especially repair ship... wasn't too useful so far)

I think all ships should have tractor beams actually :)
Would be more canon that way, plus a tractor beam doesnt really give u that much of an advantage anyway...

Well, if you're going for realism, most of the larger ships of the Federation had work bees (things for building ships and stations): Galaxy has four, Nebula has four, Nova (not sure if that one's in FO or not) has two, Akira has TEN!, and Sovereign has eight; Intrepid has something called Work Pod, though am not sure what the difference is. Anyway, so just saying that realism probable isn't the best argument for adding something, as it would most seriously unbalance the game if every (larger) ship can repair and build. It might also seriously unbalance the game if Everyone had tractor, I think we should stick it with the repair, mining and construction ship, and MAYBE give it to the largest ships like Sovereign or Galaxy. Imagine a swarm of venture class scouts dragging back all the wrecked ships on the battlefield (battlespace, whatever...).

And now your saying as though there are like 10 battleships and 50 cruisers left drifiting on every battlefields

Rarely does a battleship become crewless and a drift when playing FO, usually only small cruisers and destroyers do.

I think it should be the other way around. Its usually the more fragile ships (aka destroyers) that are actually destroyed, the larger ones usually stay in big chunks (like at wolf 359)

ok so count with me now... how many battleships can you see out there after wolf 359? dont forget that after the newer ships came along many of the older designs were downgraded to lower classes, so it is quite difficult to keep track of what should blow up and what should stay intact.

In the novel A Time to be Born, the Enterprise visited the starship graveyard Rashanar, a leftover from the dominion war. Anyways, out of something like 500 ships floating around out there, the vast majority were larger ships. I mean, think about it: Which is more likely to explode after being dealt a crippling torpedo strike, a B'rel of a Vor'cha? Obviosly the B'rel.

and the Odyssey's size helped that survive relatively intact didn't it?
its just the way it has been implemented and i like it. be honest now would you rather that an opponant manages to capture and repair a couple of lower level destroyers, or 1 or 2 of you pimped out battleships or support ships ( which the first ability is free tech)?

The Odyssey wasnt destroyed by weaponsfire, it was destroyed by a massive impact.

it doesnt matter how it is destroyed. bottom line is that it was destroyed.

No, you are very, very, very, VERY wrong. How many ships in Fleet Ops have you seen destroyed like that?
