Tyler wrote:'Fierce' ain't exactly the word I'd use for this ship... comical is more like it. If the Klingons want to intimidate the enemy, the bring out the Negh'Var; that's the type of ship deisnged to show off the empires might.
Almost no ships fire their full array ingame because it would ruin the gameplay, imagine a Borg Cube firing every weapon as a full volley.
Thats not what i mean for example, the luspet's torp look like they do from the show, stick those on every klingon ships rather than those disgusting micro photon torp.
The vorcha from the show had disruptors and torps. But in the game it has just a single beam cannon, the martok starbase is very unintimidating because it spreads its damage out over time rather than a massive explosion smashing into the side of a ship that adds the tense atmosphere like( if i dont get away from that now 1-2 more shots and im dead) right now its like yeah wow its like a single sang is firing at me and when you get a few ships those micro torps are spread between multiple targets. Even the taroja avatar has more teeth in its starbase weapons with the heavy disruptor.
Its minor things like this that would make a difference for me.
Yeah i like the negvar too its klingon like but its so rare to get that in the game because its so far up the tech tree. I see cubes more often than the negvar.

The Vor'cha has different weapons depending on the show and episode - in DS9 it either had Beams+Pulses, or Beam only, in TNG it had super blower uppy Pulse/Torp from where the beam would normally be.

And don't forget that officer Vor'chas get a torp, too.
I think Klingons using lots of small but heavily armed and fast ships fits nice to the pirate like character they had in Ent and TOS. In TNG you mostly see them with cruisers, in DS9 their fleet looks very FO like: lots of smaller ships, some cruisers and for the killing blow the mighty NeghVar. I do see the NeghVar more often than the Luspet btw, but I also agree that it is quite hard to get and often not really worth it. What could you use a Neggie for to counter? Sangs, Excel 2s, Assims, S7, Cehlers. And partly every other medium to large sized vessel since Neggies do very high damage against all kinds of stuff. But 3(and the most common) of the mentioned counter ships are partly better countered by a different ship class: the Vutpa, which doesn't need an additional yard and therefore 1400dil less

Yes it gets the micro photon torp the thing i hate most in this game and thats only after it ranks up and it doesnt do much dps.
Everything the neggie counters the luspet counters if i need to counter e2s assims, cehlers ect then ill build luspets i love the torps they have both visual and the fact they do direct hulldamage.

Hmm, the Luspet with its ADAI is in fact a medium range counter, against E2s and Assims I'd rather take Sangs or Vutpa, since it wontget hit, against Cehlers... Cehlers are quite tough due to their beams, but usually there aren't many of them. B'rels should do fine against them.
But since I rarely play Martok I'm not that familiar with the Luspet.

Luspet attacks through shields. That alone tips scales. Against all but the Borg, that's a big deal, a very big deal.

well luspet are a late game ship and in a larger games its more time efficient to use ships higher up the tech tree rather than keep building briels.
Luspet will counter e2s and cehlaurs great and you wont lose a load of them like you would briels, if you still have a squadren of briels left from earlier then there would be no harm in using them to raid but it wouldnt be worth continuing their production in later game.

The design is good enough to make it in, in my opinion. I dont think it should be a mainstream vessel though. Either a map unit or mixed tech seem nice to me. That extended neck section makes me think "long rifle" so I think this would be a cool artillery ship.
Just my thoughts though.

That would work quite nicely, I like that idea.
