To be honest.. there is only 1 Klingon type i would like to see added:
D'tai Class - Specs

Simply because the Klingon took a simple b'rel and pumped it to the size of a battleship.

lol that big bop from tng was a poorly done vfx shot. those ships were just normal bops. eas had a piece of that scene actually that explained away the silly sizes.

The d-7 type ships have been a klingon icon forever, same with the bop types. But the d-7 types in fleet ops just don't enjoy the same kind of presence the the bop types do.

That's because the D-7 was taken out of service when the K't'inga replaced it; there are none in FO. It still got of a little differently to the BoP line; the old K't'inga is still around when the K'beajQ was brought in, the old D-12 Bird of Prey didn't survive the B'rel being introduced.

that d7/ktinga line is one of the oldest in trek. klingon ships have always shown themselves to be versatile and long lasting, d7/ktinga lasted for ages, as does the bop. but its gotta end somewhere, and thats where the kbq comes in, a spiritual successor. similar in looks. the bops are probably nearing the end of their lifespan, building of them is done because bops are honourable, small crews and cheap ships made of paper, lots of honour to earn. but in a few years after fleetops time, those bops would probably get retired too.

the topmey is built as a modified ktinga basically. which is awesome :D

The D12 however could still be find around the 2370's, the Duras sisters used one when they destroyed the Enterprise. Since it was the house of Duras, I can imagine they may have had contacts to pirates and other criminals and sold some D12; otherwise it's likely some klingon houses may still have kept ships of that type for the sake of not wasting material :D

I could imagine that, the Houses without funds for more current ships could probably see a use for them.

I said d-7 type, the d-5, d-7, k'tinga, k'beajq, luspet, and lots of others hold the same basic design. which is why I said d-7 type, the basic design has been used by the klingons for a long time, same as the bop type design. Even though the d-7, k'tinga, and a bunch of other ships have been rendered obsolete, the klingons have made ships that follow the same designs. Case and point, the k'tinga and k'beajq...If the current rendition of the k'lsarza is too old looking, the fleet ops team can add their own updated look as they have before, and it will fit in quite nicely.

I never said it was a pretty model, nut the whole idea was just so outrageous it deserves a place in FO.
Either as space junk, buildable or some freaky mixed tech.

The Sang has a quite nice background which is well represented by its design(it is questionable if her use in FO represents it as well, that's why I once made a thread about it ;)). However, I could see something like you suggestion for the ChonaQ, which is a design i dislike pretty much  :innocent:. Imagine that the whole neck could be filled with the disruptor cannon :).

I saw that episode i always thought they were just kvorts which are almost as old as the briel just larger and flat rather than curved.

edit: o they are kvorts nm.

yes i consider them kvorts as well. since canon contradicts itself on which bops are brels and which are kvorts and the sizes of both, its left up to the viewer to decide what they want. i prefer to think that by ds9 the brel (the 12 crew ship from ST3 search for spock) was retired and all bops were kvorts, which were about the same size as the defiant. still leaves issues, but no amount of work is gonna fix the huge contradictions sadly.

Yeah, I suppose it would be rather pointless. Ok, to sum it up.

The sang and chonaq models are due to be replaced, the sang is on the high priority list, and the chonaq is on the normal priority list. I think the K'lsarza should replace one of them.

I understand the poll and the starting idea was to add it in as a new ship, but the idea evolved as a replacement. Does everyone just not like the looks of this ship? Or is the opposition based on the starting idea that this would just be a new ship?
