Show me where you found this little bit of "profound" information...

SFC3 and some sources on the internet. I'll go look for them later.

As far as military confrontations go.

The Galaxy is a Dreadnought.

Heavy Explorer is merely Peace-Time Lingo.

SFC3 is non-cannon. Let's face it. I, on the other hand, can show you exactly where I found my information. My sources include: Trekmania, The Starship Spotter, Star Trek Encyclopidia, Memory Alpha, DS9 Tech Manual, and the TNG Tech Manual.

SFC3 is pretty canon, and yes it's spelled canon. And as I said I got them from other sources. Then Rhaz also brought up a good point, I don't recall there being a Heavy Explorer class ships fighting along side Destroyers in a world war.

It has about the armrament levels of a Heavy Cruiser.
But its Armor and Shielding and Size would make it a Dreadnought.

Federation Destroyers during the war were the Miranda, Defiant, Sabre and Centaur (various others)

Cruisers were mostly Excelsiors and Steam Runners. (excelsiors made up most of the numbers to my knowledge).

The Heavy Cruisers were the Akiras and Nebulas (Mostly due to the module fitted with torpedo launchers)

And the Dreadnoughts of Canon appearances were the Galaxy.

I don't recall the US creating a "Frankenstien" fleet of hodgepodge ships in a world war, either. But it happed during the Dominion War.

To Rhaz- I never said it didn't function like a Dreadnaught. I only said it wasn't classified as a Dreadnaught.

Ummm WWII used ships built before WWI even started, which i'm sure were differant enough to be considered frankenstein.

And it both functions and is classified as a Dreadnought.
