To BaRoN: Yes, but not only was it a sneak attck (The Odyssey [that IS how it's spelt] wasn't expecting or prepared for a fight). Plus, they were using suicidal tactics, which Klingons have always been slightly better at. ;)

To Cpt Ryan: Riker must have thought diffrently, after he surrendered to three of them... crewed by Ferangi! (Don't belive me? Pull out your dusty TNG video collection and watch "Rascals"(TNG))

Also to BaRoN: The IKS Rottarran (Martok's ship) managed to take out a good number of them as the Defiant managed to finish mining the wormhole. (So mabye it's a Hero ship, but still, the way it wiped the floor with them says somethng about how regular B'Rels preform!)

Look in a show hero ships cant die even if it was against a 100 dreadgnoughts and a couple of hundert V-types it would still do some miracle to defeat them all. You CANNOT judge the performance of a ship based on a hero unit.
About the Odyssey(I finally get it right :D) It WASNT a sneak attack, they went into Gamma Quadrant to find Sisqo and they did prepare before they went so it was in no way a sneak attack. They even had the bug ships outnumbered 4:3 . About the suicide attack, why are klingons better at it again? The Jem Hadar are trained to use that tactic, klingons are not.

Okay, here goes nothing:

-First off: That may be true for SOME hero ships, but not all. Over the course of DS9, the Rottarran often finds itself in deep water against just a handfull of bugs.

-Second off: The V-types (aka U-types) are considered Dreadnaughts, and the "dreadnaughts" are reffered to as "battlecruisers".

-Third off: The Odyssey may have been warned that there was a POSSIBILITY, but they certanly wern't EXPECTING it, or the bugs wouldn't have gotten close to the Odyssey.

-Fourth off: 4:3? How'd you get that? It was 1:3, unless you count the Runabouts.

-Fifth off: Klingons don't need to be trained. It comes naturally. ;)

This is true for ALL "good" hero ships, they cannot die no matter what odds are against them. The only incident when a hero ship died was when the breen destroyed the Defiant, but that was just because it was getting stupid that whenever defiant fought it won so the writers had to do somethig like that. Plus they got a new defiant right away :S

Depends what your sources are. I think however that V-types (or U-type in later episodes) are battlecruisers and the dreadgnought is actually a battleship (in the episode "valiant" they say they are searching for a new dominion BATTLESHIP and that is the first time we see the dreadgnought on the TV)

-Third off: The Odyssey may have been warned that there was a POSSIBILITY, but they certanly wern't EXPECTING it, or the bugs wouldn't have gotten close to the Odyssey.

They got ready for combat at the DS9, when they evacuated all the civilians,....
So the WERE expecting combat, the captain of the Odyssey even said that he is ancious to fight the dominion after fighting the Makis and that he expected the dominion to have sharper teeth.
So u mean that the Odyssey would destroy them b4 they got so close to them? Thats kind of funny considering it was fireing at one bug ship for a while and it didnt destroy them, in the end it was the Odyssey that was actually destroyed :P

-Fourth off: 4:3? How'd you get that? It was 1:3, unless you count the Runabouts.

Yes I do count in the Runabouts, cause the last time I checked they do qualify as ships and they do have weapons. And if you remember in a later episode a Runabout even destroyed a bug ship 1vs1 which is totaly stupid. But still it proves my point that I should count them in as well.

-Fifth off: Klingons don't need to be trained. It comes naturally. laugh.gif wink.gif

And the Jem Hadar are not only designed and bred for war, they exist for no other purpose than to wage war and to learn how to fight + different strategies(like the suicide ones) That makes them superior to the klingons in my book :P

well the dom are adicted to white wich is a mager problom for tham if the white supiy is disrupted for eny reson and if a bad drective is made thay are less likly to pont it out. the klingons all so have the abilty to think crativly (to be more tactical).

In normal conditions they are superior to klingons, but if they dont have enough ketracel white they arent as efficiant of course. But that is an extreme condition, what if klingons dont have enough food? Thats the same and ketracel white is much easier to transport because it uses much less space than normal food.
Also with Klingons and any other major race, except for Borg and Dominion, morale is VERY VERY important. Which is both a minus and a plus but in my opinion is more a minus as it is too unpredictable so I would rather have Borg or Dominion warriors than others.
Also Jem Hadar use the strategy that is the most fit for the situation that is at hand, if they see the odds are extremmely against them they will ram enemy ships causing significant damage,.... Which doesnt mean that they have no creativity.
They will always obey, as their moto suggests Obediance brings victory and victory is life! Klingons do not do that.
Plus with klingons and other "normal races" there are a lot of factors which can influence their performance under stress, like if they are demoted and they are sad or something. Or if their family member died, or if,..... With Jem Hadar such things dont matter which makes them superior.

So there I gave u a couple of reasons why Jem Hadar are superior and you cannot say they are wrong :P

If they are running low on white they can extend the supply by not consuming such an ammount. I forgot to make one more point b4, Jem Hadar do NOT require sleep which makes their crew compliment smaller by at least 50%

i gotta go with the baron on this one, although how Sisqo manages to beat a few jem hadar hand to hand i'll never know :hmmm:

Another point reason has forced me to consider: Due to poor scaling by the guys down at visual effects, we have no idea exactly how big a bird of prey is. It ranges from the (conjectural) K'pak at 35m. to the (also conjectural) D'tai at 654m.

Due to this, I am forced to conclude that any comparison between BoPs and any other ship would be inconclusive until some cannon source clears all this up.

like i said earlier they seem to field about 4/5 different versions  .

That's entirely possible, however, it's impossible to know for sure, so this whole conversation is irrelevant.

Its kind of the same with the Dominion dreadgnought with 3 different versions :S
