So basically you want a large ship you have to put together cube style but the parts, instead of each being incompletes of the whole, will each be able to fight seperately like smaller cubes can, is that a fair assesment?

no the pieces will be practically defenceless (as originally proposed).
the balancing can be done in other areas, for eg. credit/resource cost.

I want the Dreadnought in game don't get me wrong, but it should be built in a shipyard like the Dominion did, instead of putting it together via Borg style.

Firstly: It would NOT be a balance problem, the FO team will make sure of that :D

Secondly: Its not the borg way but it was also the dominion way :P Also you said that it makes scence for the borg to use that because they have big ships, well the dread is 50% longer than cube lol :P

is there any pictures for it?

@Baron, true it's longer, but actual internal volume is much smaller. Of course, cubes are mostly empty space too ... oh well whatever.

@Frodo, check out http://www.ditl.org. There are actually two "huge" dominion ships, one twice the size of a sovvie and one humongously huge. I'm pretty sure we're talking about the smaller one in the thread here, after all a ship 4.8 km long is pretty ridiculous I think.

It's not the Dominion way to build a bunch of ship parts, put them in space, and have them put themselves together. I'm not talking about size, i'm talking how the **** can ship parts magically come together and build themselves in space without the need for a shipyard? The Borg can of course since all their cubes are seperate ships...Does anyone else see a problem with that at all?

i do, i was just assuming it would be like the borg way of fusion, but then it is the dominion race we're talking about, i see your point. build it in a ship yard then, its not too big for a shipyard is it?

You can even make a shipyard specifically made to build it, like they did in star wars with the super star destroyer. That will help with balance because it will require even more minerals.

Either this or the fusion idea, there is no way this is built in a regular yard the regular way

Thought this would explain better. made it myself

The stage that the Dominion dreadnaught was at when it was seen, was probably "D". Otherwise their would have been no "Valiant" episode :shifty:

My proposed fusing idea woultake the place of part "D" for the Dreadnaught, just to spice things up. To provide that little moment of panic, when you come under attack & you haven't quite prepared you dreadnaught just yet. make things fun B)

@PD since the fusion cube doesn't actually exist, noone knows how the cubes are built, since it has never appeared on an episode or movie, so that is just speculation.

it won't let me attach the image  . i saved it in .jpeg format & its only 28.9kb any help plz.

Not talking about fusion cube, talking about any cube...thats how they get bigger, by adding 4 together, then more, then more, and bam you gotta huge *** cube. The one in first contact was larger then the ones in voyager, so they had to have put a few together.

They ARE the Borg, i'm sure they realised that the seams in between cubes would cause trouble and erased them by taking out the walls in between the seperate cubes and reinforceing the outside walls.
