Custom Ships - For V4 Or V5

My idea is to have one of the new races have a ship that can be custimized.


Egzample:

You have a ship with the option to up grade 2feechers of your ships such as weponds and shealds, life suport and sheals, or engons and weponds.

Implementation:

You whould have a upgrade bution under the bution you would have>> Shelad engons, weopons, life suport, speshal wepond energy, and so on you could limed to upgrades to two pership.

Why dont you think it can be dun?

it used the same consept as a reserch station but on a ship insted.

Seems good to me and I dont think it should be that difficult to do. Just make it like Rhienn refits, with 1 refit giving +2 to offence, the other +2 to defence and the third +2 to system

I actually think it would be a really good idea if this was on all ships, that would give you A LOT of diversity in games and ships. Actually it seems awesome to me

do you guys realise just how much more this is gonna add to the total download size if you do it for all ships? the mind boggles the odfs alone would probably take a couple of megs (for txt files thats a lot).
although it is an interesting idea, i would only support it for a strict number of ships from each race.

Bah I dont care about the download size lol. If they do this it would add an incredible amount of diversity into the game, for that Im ready to make sacrifices

well thare is ways to get arownd dl size such as make a P2P link on the site or brake the download in to parts.

breaking the installation into 2 parts usually complicates the installation process. plus you still have to download the same amount in total anyway
@baron, this may well be not too much of an inconvenience to you or me but think about the people with slower internet connections or those with a download limit/cap. plus i really would rather not be hanging around waiting for a d/l any longer than i have to.

its not available in some areas. some of my mates dont have it for exactly that reason.

yep. one may have noticed that the starship values are already there but still seem to be very constant (except from a few special weapons and the avatar bonuses). of course there will be more possibilities to influence your vessels in one way or the other. not perhaps directly in v3 but hey, future is a wide field
