That, plus without pop caps the AI tends to just spam like mad until youve tinkerd with costs and pop cap (not in the case of flops for pop but yeah :p)

My personal mod of the Klingon Academy 2 mod is pretty much like that in that the AI doesnt really spam that badly, but that said it's prolyl good some of the custom units Ive done havent been added to the tech tree........

Having an AI spam fighters would hurt, even if the AI prolly wouldnt know to rearm them with torps once they run out.

Then theres the Star Empire, Ark Royale, Federation class, etc etc.

In flops SP maps I tend to take a few hours to do a play thru. I mean yeah I could (even on big maps) wipe the floor with the AI in short order, but it's funner to do it with building the minimal of ships possible (of course said ships often reach vet status pretty early on).

The only race that usualy troubles me much is the Klingons and their cruiser buildable at the starbase, when their AI rushes 1-3 of that and BoPs.

Feds are easiest to do this with, theyre balanced for survivability best. Borg are actualy hardest, because a rush can kill lower leveld borg ships easier
