You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Turrets aren't too bad. When I see my opponent start turtling his expansion I take the next logical step; attack his base. Take out a shipyard and some research. It sets them back quite a bit. :D

Wait a minute.  So....what you're saying Funny is that you don't just grind your ships up against their turrets and lose them all?  You actually go after other targets that aren't so well protected? ???  What kind of crazy strategy is that? :P

he's a madman, a madman i says. the only way to defeat a turtler is the AI way, send ship after ship in single file into their defense grid. eventually the wreckages of those ships will clog up their weapons. i stole this idea from zapp brannigan :sweatdrop:

I think I can pretty easily finish this:

Dircome wrote:Welcome to the forums I like the idea of special station being tied to the turrets however as the turrets are unmanned i dont think they should rank up however it would be interesting to see if anyone else has any ideas on this :)

Don't get me wrong, Dircome.
Humans are not the only entities that could learn.

They're not, but I doubt the Romulans have developed an AI that can learn like a sentient being. It would have to be advanced enough to rival Data or the Dreadnaught Missile.

Are you saying that the people who built Terak-Nor are better computer designers than the Romulans?  Really?

I didn't make the show... Cardassians built a fully-functional, sentient AI. I don't recall any sign of Romulan AI's close to its level, or any AI's at all.

The fact is, we don't know anything about Romulan AIs.  So for all we know, they could be really good, or really bad.  But at a guess I'd say they're at least on par with the Cardassians.

I love the 'No evidence doesn't mean they never did it' idea. That one works both ways; 'No evidence also doesn't mean they did or might do it'.

I'd say the Romulans are less likely to consider that a viable choice and not bother with it, making them worse than others. A Romulan can be brainwashed to obey the state, but an AI can be reprogrammed easier.

There's also the idea that being as good or better at some things doesn't mean you'll be as good at everything. The Cardassians obviously have some advantages or the Federation would have massacred them in the early wars.

Well, I don't see the Cardassian AI design being a major part of their not being massacred.

On the other hand, the Romulans did experiment with drone ships controlled by non-Romulans way back in the ENT era, so I think they would definitely consider it a viable choice.  I mean, they can always program in safefguards to make the ship/station/whatever self-destruct when someone attempts to reprogram it.

Now, that is daunting. I think that even the ferfect spam wouldn't survive that.

i think a few tac cubes might be able to ram through, slowly though. bortas ion storm would easily dismantle it.
