Actually they are more or less fine as they are(considering how much u need to build em), but i think the other races should get some kind of "doomsday weapons" then too. Thats why some ppl think they are overpowered.

I dont think the klingons are overpowered.

The Bortas will fall pretty fast. Romulan frigate or a defiant and it is done. Whats left are the borg, and they are in my eyes the strongest fraction of all.

Its not about its durability, its about what it does in those 2 seconds before it's shot down. Indeed many think that the other races deserve a doomsday device, but with the supply disadvantage I think it balances everything out. Same with the Dominion hyperspace artillery. Now that is something to fear as well.

the bortas? i dont build them, no real use other then a torpedo launcher, and you can only build 3 of them if im not mistaken and non of them are that effective.

the ion storm lasts a few seconds, and the enemy recloaks, thats unless you got a fleet of ships to attack with.. it depends on the situation at the time, but i still find it not really of interest, the only way i can truly understand is by mp matches, but the tunngle software is less reliable then my own failing memory

lol canny if you play it on tunngle you will find that those few seconds are more than enough.

if you have a trio of bortas all with ion storm and moqbara station, and use the polaron field (next patch when balanced again) to keep ships in the field, you will most likely destroy every ship hit. especially if you can use the bortas as raiders killing miners first, that way they will rank up, and veteran bortas ion fields are more powerful. 2 vets and 1 normal ion field can destroy most base structures.

Bortas Class = Romulan cloaking turret counter

Reason. Get three of them to do the Ion storm all within a close radius covering a small group of turrets. After doing this a few times the turrets are destroyed.

ion storm kicks bottom.

its good for harassing with the turret deploy too. drop turrets at an expansion and miners die.

yep we are quite happy witht eh ionstorm and its performance. there are some ideas to make it more fun, instead of just a plain area of effect weapon, but i think its relative power is alright
