After a few 3v3s today, and I was klingon everytime. They only thing that let us win was the Bortas Ion storm. I managed to kill 8 Defenders, 12 b-5s, numorous bugs, v-13s, s-2s, generexes, tavaras, and a whole bunch of other things. I had Moqba on of course. I managed to keep their fleets inside the storm with Qua'Duwj poloron field, and vorchas poloron torp, while my KeBeQus used their disrupor to frie the rest. My question for you is, is this fair? Does the Bortas need a fix? If so, what should happen to it?

Between their cost, place in the techtree and the stupidity of an enemy that allows you to build them, they are ok as they are.

i think its fair, it takes a lot of time resources and micro to get a bortas at its best. so if your enemy scouts and spots you building an imperial research, they can bet you are going with bortas. which means they can prepare in advance and attack your bortases.

as its so hard to get them out, that the reward is justified

EDIT: as tyler quite accurately says, if your opponent gives u enough breathing room to make those doom bringers, show him he was wrong to, and steamroll him

Wait. ???

Funny, you climbed as fast as you could to the top of the Martok tech tree and built Negh'vars and Bortas?

Nooo....you would never do that. :whistling: ;)

lol....maybe they should scout ahead, not send their entire fleet in 1 blob next time!

I thought we'd been over this before...  :sweatdrop: . It's like teching to Hyperspace Artillery. Powerful situational units. :) Of course, the Polaron Field is just plain evil right now - so it'll be nice to see it go. Unlimited AoE weapons just are never very fun unless they are limited or have some severe downside.

Lasts 5 seconds, but it's an unlimited ability as far as I've known - been that way for it's entire career  :sweatdrop:

EDIT: just rechecked. Used one Polaron Field on 15 ships.... 15 ships with disabled systems  ^-^

are nanites also unlimited? or are they limited to 5 ships because of system disabling change is recent addition? or just polaron field with different graphic and name  :D

Does the Poleron Field affect crew? Because I think Nanites do.

I think it can affect any subsystem Im affraid

All but shields.  You can look at it the odf, which will give you the percent chance of each subsystem being affected.
