Well it definitely isnt Neutronium as I remember from VOY Episode "Think Tank",  the Think Tank itself was constructed out of Neutronium and Seven of Nine commented that the Borg never assimilated the knowledge to collect or create neutronium (so not even the borg have this technology).

From Memory Alpha: "The ability to melt tritanium was beyond Federation technology in 2364."

Until this date the Federation only had very small amounts of Tritanium in some ship hulls, such as using it in the Bulkheads of the Galaxy Class.
It was most likely that until 2364 all ships were actually constructed for the most part out of Duranium, and even beyond this date it is still likely to be a very widely used material in ship construction and armour.

Tho you are definitely right with the Deuterium.

The only ships I know of armored in Neutronium in the Star Trek universe are the Planet Killer that Kirk fought, and it's big-brother in Vendetta.  Both products of The Preservers, who built them for one reason (according to Vendetta)...to wipe out the Borg.

It took the most powerful drive systems that the bloody Preservers could make to let those things move around, though the one Kirk fought was an underpowered proof-of-design model that got launched on autopilot in a vain hope that maybe, someday, in the distant future, it might reach the Borg homeworld and eat it.

The 'Think Tank' from Voyager used a Neutrnium-hulled ship. The Iconians were supposedly know to have mastered the stuff, so if they had ships, it is likely they could get it on them.

ah, yea, sorry. i mixed ab deuterium and duranium.. maybe we should have sticked with the "metal" term from armada2 :sweatdrop:

i normally play game speed: 4 and resources: double      in theory that should be more multi player friendly

Well i don't really like to mod games i like standard gameplay.

Problem is you need at least 3 dil and 3 tri moons to have some sort of income.. which to be honest weird.

Most maps you can't get 3x of each moon because they are to far apart or to many players are in it.

Also noticed that if your borg you don't get enough resources ever... mostly because ALL the ships costs insane amounts still, in 3.0.5 they at least killed some ships. Now they just make nice (expensive) explosions on the battlefield.

I disagree. I can easily thrive with only two pairs (which is why most two player maps only have two pairs). Borg ships have huge costs because they have HUGE power.

No they don't 2x K'vort own 2x scoutcube, borg are underpowered or overpriced.

And vs a merciless AI you can't last long without abusing romulan 2x tavar, dominion breen battleships or feds turret spamming.

as borg you'll get killed.

Do I have to write this everywhere? You cannot judge game balance by playing against or with the AI.

46/40 (or 50/40) 2x pulse armed Kvort offense/defense plus I assume Shield Breaking Torpedoes?
versus a destroyer Scout Cube Regen : 48/48
versus a destroyer Scout Cube Beam: 50/50
versus Scout Cube Intercep: 56/44

Seems semi likely to me. Two K'vorts without special weapons will fall without even killing one Scout Cube. I just tested it so don't tell me I'm wrong.

your wrong because by the time you have 2 scoutcubes there will be 4 K'vorts ;)

Yes, and by the time you have 4 K'vorts I'll have 2 Probes as well. Your point being?

Once again, you cannot compare balance until you've played plenty of games on multiplayer. I guarantee you that it is not impossible (nor even that difficult) for the Borg to defeat a K'vort spammer.

What was the point of that post Gamer? I don't think it has any relevance to the topic at hand... :whistling:

I'm just saying that there are no means of comparing because all races have completely different basics of their tree... so there shouldn't be any need of comparison.

the key with K'vort spammage is that you get them really quick before you even get enough countermeasures with borg because of the high build cost on the borg side.

But if you survive that borg will win it most likely but versus a proper player you'll never get that far.
