Hi all and happy new year.
I recently had a Nvidia GTX 260 running Fleetops v3.14 on Windows 7 x64 OS. Christmas Day Found a Nvidia GTX 580 under the tree, installed it updated the drivers to 263.09 and found out that FleetOps had updated to v3.15. So i updated the game, now when i run FleetOps i can get to the game menu, but when i start an instant action game the loading screen is replaced by six giant squares, and finally when i get in game the graphics is all screwed up. I have tried downgrading my drivers alas according to nvidia that is the lowest driver i can drop to. By the way i dont have any AA enabled.
Any suggestions welcome, but just pointing out that there may be incompatibilty issues with FleetOps and the new Nvidia Drives.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums Dogstar
i would recommend reinstalling fleetops
unsinstall fleetops, then install 3.1.4 then 3.1.5.

thankyou for your reply.
Tried your suggestion twice to make sure that the install was not messed up, but i still have the same problem. Thing is that i had Fleetops v3.14 already installed and it was playing fine with my Nvidia GTX 260 with drivers 258.xx but when i installed my new GTX 580 and updated the drivers to 263.09 which is the oldest i can roll back to, i have this problem. so all i can currently think of is
1. The current drivers are incompatible with fleetops
2. Fleetops dont like my new card
I realize that 2. seems a silly suggestion but i dont know anyone else with a GTX 580 to try fleetops to see if there is something wrong with my card or system.

mits sound silly but go into the nvidia control panel and load up fleetops to it under the add programs and configure it all to application controlled,it worked for my older nvidida card for several games that wouldnt perform properly

Tried all of your suggestions such as Directx which according to MicroSoft is upto date, and creating a Fleetops profile in the Nvidia control panel, sadly to say still cant get to work. Even tried some of the compatibilty settings under the program options to see if that worked, but didn't come to think of it thus far everything i have tried seems to result the same no changes whatsoever.
Thankyou all for your help, but it seems apart from a complete windows reinstall which i cant see helping at all i have no idea in the slightest what could be causing this problem. like i said i can't see the in game interface at all, the mouse cursor is a sort of brown square, the mini-map and star background is completly black, the only thing i can see is the starbase but no ships, and the loading instead of a picture is now six segmented color squares ?

I envy your problem lol. this may not work but i might suggest trying an older version of FO 3.13 for instance.

just tried your suggestion and download FleetOps v3.10 and gave that a try and its doing exactly the same thing as the later versions. so it definatly seems to be card driver related because i tried updating DirectX to the latest version and windows 7 said it was already upto date.
I have to admit its annoying, i just hope that Nvidia fixes it in the next driver revision cause i dont think anyone with a newer card is going to be able to play FleetOps.

Is this the only game with problems?

So far, i was playing Fallout 3 and Mafia II, but i also have Silent Hunter V and Just Cause 2 installed and have been playing those fine without any problem. When i had my GTX260 with drivers 258.xx i was playing FleetOps v3.14 and everything was fine. After i installed my new card on christmas day i checked FleetOps.net for any updates and found that v3.15 was out, so i updated from v3.14 and ran the game to find this strange graphics corruption, naturally i originally thought that there was a problem with v3.15, so i uninstalled and reinstalled v3.14 to find the same problem. Then after a few suggestions from the member(s) on the forum i downloaded v3.10 and tried that with no luck, so the only thing i can presume other than my windows installation has some become messed up installing my new card is that there is some kind of compatibility issue with the card/drivers. Although other than FleetOps everything else i have installed plays fine with no glitches.
Like i said this has me completly baffled
