Who cares about canon as long as it makes a good hour or so of viewing.

in the last episode, EVERYONE Left.  Sisko is playing with the prophits, Worf got a desk job with the Klingons,  O'Brien is teaching at the academy, Rom left to be Grand Negas, Dax died and got replaced with fake dax. and Garak and Odo went home

so what do you have left?

Kira got dumped and is left in charge, Quark is watering down drinks again, Julian is still learking around, and you have Jake with his "writting carreer" and Sisko's baby momma.   OHHH let the cameras roll.

Wait,  Ben Married her b4 he left didn't he?

point being, you cant loose over ½ your main charecters and still have a good movie.

IMHO anyways

I just said I wished.  Never said how it would go.  Sheesh.  Harsh critic.

You know what I say!
I CARE IF IT IS CANON! IF IT AIN'T CANON THEN IT IS BARELY WORTHY!

So Star Trek 5 and Threshold are worthy? They are canon.

Canon and entertainment are not always compatible, that is what filler is for. Canon matters for series, but films are a lower priority.

i'm not arging that,  my cuz and i had often discussed how such a movie could go (that was before it ended)

not TRYING to be harsh,  if i were harsh, i'd yell at you to hook up your little bro's wippien so he could finally play online.

but that is none of my buisness.

again,  IMHO,  books are fine,  untill the show decides to contradict them, then they are just trash.

Is there a Star Trek 5? For some reason I seem to go from 4 to 6 but I don't recall any ST5. Nonononono.

And... Do I want to know what Threshold is?

Also, the adventures of the Galaxy-class Excalibur may not be canon, but sure they were interesting.

star trek canon

come on, how many times has the show contradicted itself.  i prefer logical and realistic to canon from the tv show.

their are no individuals in the borg.........oops cept the queen.

the vorta have telekinetic abilities........whoa where did those disappear to after the first season?

and so on.  id rather have something actually make sense than getting stuck to canon especially since there is alot of inconsistency in the various series.

Even then, you need refitting and checking up, and I'm sure Star Trek is no different. When everything relies on the power plant, I'm sure it'll be hard to keep things running--not to mention, energy is not infinite, and you can bet that it takes a heck of a lot more energy to run an Intrepid class starship than a sub or a carrier.

the enterprise is supposed to be able to carry out a five year mission without major assistance.  so voyager at the very least should be able to go a year or two especially since it only has 150 crew members.  and as the other guy pointed out those problems magically disappeared after the first couple of seasons.  as for their power supplies considering that data could vaporize all the water in an aqueduct with one phaser shot i cant even begin to imagine how powerful a warp core would be.

and yeah i was referring strictly to the nuclear plant.

A warp cores power can be pretty easily calculated if you know how much matter and antimatter are used. Most other systems use fusion power however. Voyager was also in the badlands before hand remember, so that could have used a lot of stuff too :).

Well, Voyager was planned to be a lighter and more manuverable alternative to the Galaxy in terms off deep space exploration so it's safe to assume that it was able to go for a long period of time before refueling. But I remember one episode in which they almost ran out of dilithium cristals, so their power source is not infinite, the warp core is going as long as it has dilithium, after that it's bye bye power.

What's more odd about this show is the fact that the ship took heavy damage through out the series but miraculously the crew fixed that all by themselves, without in need of a starbase. Not even the crew of the Ent D was able to do that, I remember one or 2 episodes in which they had to go to a Starbase for repairs and maitenance.
