yeah you can get TOS Phaser beam array which do same amount of damage as "standart" beam array
it just looks like two blue beams like in remastered TOS with TOS sound
you can equip them on any ship

if you get TOS constitution class ship.. it starts with 1x fore and 1x aft beam array if you put those arrays in inventory and decomission ship you can freely get that ship again get more beam arrays and repeat this till you have enough of them

Well, the STO crew must be doing something right, because I still pay my monthly fee to play yhe game.

May be I'm not obsessed with ST purity so I enjoy the game even with all its flaws.

It's interesting to note I've never considered playing SWG seriously, but I jumped into STO without a second thought.

I managed to make a second screenshot of my Star Cruiser kitbash, this one a sideways view:


The "green bits" fore and aft are the result of adding the borg console to the ship, same with the purple glow in the tail. The tail glow appears when you put the Aegis set, but in blue. Also, the blue glow in the deflector array is because of the Aegis set.

I had a "duh" moment when I realized I took the screenshot of the side that doesn't show the FleetOps logo.

You know you can hide the effects from mounted kit rite ?


Right click it in the inventory.

I'm aware of the "disable visuals" option.

I was commenting so people would know that those bits are not part of the "normal" ship view.

If you are talking about the color, it's simply that I like spaceships with dark colored hulls. That Federation "pearly white" annoys me.

White hasn't been the only Federation color since TOS, they had a great variety of greys to go with it since TMP.
