I wonder if there is any good mods for it?

there are, i remember a single player campaign mod called wraith i think. was more difficult, was fun.
mp mods are cool, mr pants excessive overkill is a hectic but funny mod. thats the most advanced weapons mod i have seen for ef.
other mods just leave the behaviour of the weapons as stock, but change the way they look.
like the stargate weapons mod, the zat gun is just the hand phaser, and they behave the same, doing identical firing and damage. staff weapon = comp rifle etc.

I wish I could argue with that but I can't. I think a bit more originality should've went into the design of the series main ship.

Oh I agree 110%.
If it had been done right, Enterprise would have been freaking epic.
Instead, they got retards who wanted to remake everything, there was no need to remake everything however.... just expand and elaborate, and it'd be intertaining and you dont anger the nerdbase.

If Enterprise had been done right, it wouldn't have died so soon...
To their credit, the Enterprise's nacelles and deflector were the best part of the show and looked the era.

Yeah, and the interiors were nice too.
The problem was the idiot writers upgraded it to a modern starship prone to bouts of randomly not working because 'its new tech lol' which got really old really fast.
You ask me, they shoulda stuck to lasers and more crude energy weapons with no stun setting. Prehaps have a dedicated stun weapon that was basicly a tazer on steriods.
Transporters should have been a big no.
Same for visiting the klingon homeworld and worlds that were so far away.
If theyd just focused on Earth post WW3 and the forming of alliances that became the federation, prehaps even the earth/rom war, or better yet earth against some other alien race (I want to say theres a race or two earth fought early on, tho it may be from one of the older RPGs or something).
They could have had a full sandbox to play in, and not had to be utterly silly.
Season 1- A mix of good episodes, and silly xindi time travel crap
Middle Seasons- TIME COLD WAR LOL AND FIGHTING NAZI PLANES I CAN HAZ PHOTON TORPEDOS LOL. A few good episodes, mostly a crap plot that really didnt fit anything.
Last season- Suddenly, they start having half decent to pretty good story arcs, still trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak too much, however they had to stay in line with the previous seasons rather than trek itself, a shame as the last season could have been so much better.
Personaly, I think it should have been basicly similar to DS9, start on a world recovering from a big war still (earth). Have exploration and characther/story devolptment plots. Have Romulan point of view episodes, leading to the start of the earth/romulan war and the solidification of the alliances that became the federation. Prehaps even have a young/hot T'Pau be a Vulcan ambasador, and have some Vulcan episodes showing how the Vulcans got over the lingering remaints of xenophobia that made up their mindset, enough to ally with the humans. (many of the old classic RPG material and books have the Vulcans first contact with aliens being with Orion Pirate precursors, who claimed desire for peace, then attacked and kidnaped many of the worlds leaders who were there to meat them. Vulcan, having all their mind powers, but not yet being fully under Surak's teachings, basicly rapes their minds and what not, and then send vids and pics of the wrecked fleets back to the attackers home with a 'gtfo' message. This was what led to the group that became the romulans leaving Vulcan, one of Surak's best students was so enraged he couldnt follow Surak any further, however he followed logic enough to realize that if he stayed it would result in further bloodshed, so they left and eventualy settled on Romulus. The memory of the attack was a big part of what kept Romulans Xenophobic, the Vulcans got over it a lot quicker)
