As much as i really hate enterprise as a show and i really dont care for the akiraish enterprise this refit i think really makes it better. Now i dont think it would have made up for the shows shortcomings this is what the NX-01 should have been all along. Heres a diagram of the refit NX-01 Refit Diagram «

I've seen this before. I love it.
It's such a shame that Enterprise was so rushed and poorly thought out (when any thinking was involved) as it SHOULD have been awesome.
I remember this one Klingon Academy mod that also tried to refit the NX to make it look decent, I'll see if I can find the pics.
EDIT:

That redesign, but make it look more TOS like as in this KA mod.
It would be awsome.

Hm, it's certainly a nice design, but it strikes me as more of a second or third generation ship (if we take NX-01 to be a first generation ship); particularly because of the complexity. I didn't mind the original design to be honest. I mean it was certainly not the most striking in my mind (for canon ships the Intrepid class get's that place; if non-canon is included, it's the Century), but appropriate for the show's setting: Early days, simple ship, more functional than anything else, and not perfect. I don't quite get why it having an Akria influence should matter. Technically, since this ship came "first", you could argue that it's the Akira that was inspired by the NX (in universe of course).
Frankly I didn't think Enterprise was that bad. It's a different view. More lawless; lonely; the stepping into the unknown. But I'm not going to say more than that.

It's an upside down Akira.

Almost an upside down Akira. As much as the haters whine, they actually did make changes, most notably the very fitting Warp nacelles.

Very few changes, and they left quite a few Akira bits in place. It's almost as bad as the JJtrek Enterprise which is, according to the offical numbers, bigger than a soverign, which creates massive scaling issues (and of course, if you use the size it was origonaly designed to be, the shuttle bay is way too small to fit the big shuttles that the crew of cadets loaded onto it thru)

This reminds me of how happy I was (when I played ST:Legacy) when I looked into the fleet-menu for the next mission and the NCC-1701 replaced the NX-01...
I admit, that refit shown in the first post does look better than the NX-01 as it ended up, but also the new parts look so 'tagged on' that it looks stupid at a closer look. Look look look

lol the akiraprise arguments begin
i never felt happy playing legacy ever. had to delete the nebulae to make it run on my comp, which breaks the scripting of the first mission lol.
legacy was just awful. battles were still too slow, at least they were faster than BC

You're right with that, however I wanted to play it to the bitter (and stupid) ending

However, the point was that whatever beauty of ships lays in the TMP and TNG-eras -and inbetween- nothing will stand a chance against the classic feel of the TOS-Constitution IMO.

i didnt like the tos connie, it was poorly armed, 3 torps lol. archer had more in his tubes.
the ending was incredibly stupid, 2 tac cubes and then infinite spawning cubes, little buggers and allies, several of which were called uss voyager. i hated the last mission it was so boring chipping away at the tac cubes, even if you cheated and got 4 sovvies it took all day. then dragging those stupid mayson turrets with terrible controls, which died so fast, and if u touched the stupid anomaly u died. and no matter what damage you took you could just warp back to that nebula class and repair instantly.
there was no skill involved, just loads of time that would have been better spent sleeping. turell and picard debating got boring after a while cos the story was weak. i cant believe turell would try speechify at picard, the lord of speechifying. he can kill a klingon at 10 yards with 1 word.

I haven't ever got much past the "Archer" era, mostly because of the insidious lag which made using the bad controls even worse. That and whenever I start, something always comes up and sucks away my time.

try deleting the nebulae after the first mission. will mean old comps can play legacy. the first mission uses the nebula for a trigger spawning, why they would code it that way i dont know lol.
also shift T brings up system targeting for when u have to kill those annoying frieghters.

Legacy is basicly a crappy A2 mod in which bethesda lied their arses off to get people to buy it.
As for control issues, get a xbawks controller on your PC and its solved (or so I remember beth tech support saying to someone back when ti came out)

legacy was made for xbox360 first and clumsily ported to windoze, so it would work better on a 360 controller. especially as the user manual still mentions the xbox controller lol. the keyboard/mouse didnt do anything extra above a controller as you would expect from a FPS game.
it was a shame, cos if they hadnt rushed legacy it would have been a lot better. they could have kept missions from all the captains properly. rather than having sisko and janeway shoehorned in. they had all 5 voice actors in the same place at once, they wont get that ever again.

In all honest I didn't have a problem with the NX design, " YES IT LOOKS LIKE AN AKIRA"
However to be honest the Akira is only popular in the Star Trek Gaming community when it comes to onscreen time you never really see the damn thing that much.
As for that kitbash I saw in the first post and the schematics, I won't lie it's nice to try and make it have a secondary hull but completely tacked on.
Enterprise it's self wasn't a bad idea, just poorly implemented however there were some decent episodes and the season 4 mini arc's were written well.
Legacy........
The worst lie in all of Star Trek Gaming.
I was lucky that I own a 360 controller for Windows, but damn was that game terrible. I basically played it for about 3 days and then went back to playing other Star Trek Games like SFC.
