How would you like it to be?

Let's summarize what we've had:
- TOS - horrible acting, miniskirts and lots of dreams about the unknown galaxy.
- TNG - Developing characters (TNG was based upon character interaction), reemergence of former and new foes
- DS9- Sudden discovery new galaxy, intergalactic war, character interaction
- Voyager - A ship alone stranded a long way from home
- Enterprise - Start of space exploration, introducing foes for the first time, (too) much time travel, not enough techno-babble

For me new options could be exploration gamma quadrant (USS Luna anyone?) or a series based upon a Federation (or Klingon) away mission Star Trek Elite Force style.

In particular the latter would have some interesting things to look forward to. E.g. the series could intersect with TNG and DS9, character interaction since it focuses on people rather than ships, explore some of the old/new foes (Intel gathering against the Breen, Romulans, Cardassians, Tsenketi, Dominion and so on), technobabble.

Sprout some of your ideas here folks.

How about series from opposite side of view... centered around Romulans for example instead of UFP

from events of Romulan Reappearance in 1st season of TNG to post Dominion War era

Although intriguing, i think such a series would be doomed to fail. People (at least the majority) like to identify themselves with "the good guys" while the covert, paranoid and roman style government is not associated with that.

I'm still waiting for a series about the Klingons. Novels managed it, TV should be able to keep up.

A series about the Romulan Underground or set after Nemesis may have more promise than a TNG-era Romulan series.

well after the start of the dominion war the klinks and roms could be shown as "good" (ish) guys. there would be some issues but that would at least be more realistic. the main characters of the show could do bad things to protect their empire. like archer did when he stole from an alien ship, but more often. i dont particularly mind the main characters being bad guys, since there are no good guys without bad guys.

Main characters that are not strictly 'good' is a pretty common concept that's a lot more common these days. Romulans and Klingons weren't really evil in TNG, they just had different cultural norms.

If you're going to go anywhere now....you go forward..Post DS9, Post Nemesis..the problem now is that if youre going to have a Star Trek show on TV it most likely will be an alternate universe show based on TrekXI

I'm not sure if I'd enjoy that new universe.

You're not alone... I'd hate to think what they'd have by their version of TNG...

I still like the idea of Riker, Deanna, and the Titan.

As far as i know there is no new series, why torture our selfs by giving ideas for a new one that is VERY unlikely to ever happen.

Might be a new film but it will be a raped version by the guy who did the recent startrek film, in the new one he will probly blow up earth to alter the time line again, or maybe qonos the klingon home world, since both vulcan, remus and romulas are all destroyed, by the time that guys finished with the startrek universe all planets will be destroyed while he takes a piss on the grave labbled startrek.  :crybaby: :crybaby:

well in order to find out what would make a new series great would be to analyze what has made the star trek as a whole great. and im my opinion these can be listed.

1) it must be mysterious. for instance voyager was great because it had this mysterious nature to it. one never knew what to expect in the delta quadrant, new enemies, new allies, new technology.

2) star trek as a whole was always great because the show featured new gadgets like the communicator and transporter, where when back in time when these shows where made like in the 70's etc, no-body really thought that things like that would ever be possible, and hence attracted viewers, to take a look into the future.

3) every successful star trek episode always featured some nemesis that was completely unknown or at least partially unknown. and usaully this nemesis threatened all of humanity. ie the borg, or dominion

now i think a new series of star trek must contain these elements else ppl will quickly become disinterested with the series and bored leading to the failure and cancelation of the series.

a star trek sequel is planned, with jj at the helm again. i want that ship to crash and burn too. maybe jj's trek wagon can crash into the titan and they both explode. i lold at destroying all the planets lol.

star trek tv shows took the 70s off, there was TOS in 60s and TNG in 80s

It's nice to spout ideas. Also nice to see different preferences.
