So with the success and overall great reception to Abrams' new movie, would you think a new series would be on the way? I've been looking around a little, and it seems CBS has been considering an animated mini-series.

Thoughts? Anyone else got any more current info?

Yeah I know...but who knows, these things take forever to come to fruition. Check this one too: In a Crumbling Galaxy, a Shining Light

I would love to see a live action Star Trek:  New Frontier series.  But I'm not sure who they could get to do Calhoun.... :whistling:  Would be nice to see Shelby (she's an admiral now in the series) again.

Actually, imagine what modern companies could do with TAS...it might actually be watchable!

I think that they really have a few places they can start from. Odo and the founders. Kira and DS9. Riker, Troi, Tuvok, and the USS Titan. Even Voyager with Chacotay and Paris. A series with 7 of 9's think tank. Even sending ships back to the delta quadrent with Nelix. I personaly dont care much for the Abrams movie. To much flash and not enouph meat.

There... I said my bit. :whistling:

What they need is a series like the 'IKS Gorkon' novel series; a show about a Warship of the Klingon Empire.

I may not care much for the 'morals' a show like that can include, but it will be better to see than just another Starfleet ship.

your right Tyler. I forgot about those series of books.

Yeah I wouldn't be too thrilled about an animated series either. But I think the "future" (of the future, heh) seems like the logical next step. I think something set even farther into the future...like on one of those temporal ships we see in Voyager, would be cool. No remakes please! And no more prequels! (But don't get me wrong, I loved Enterprise).

i would love the "morals" of a klingon ship series.........if you dont like them........blow them up.  :)

if it has to be a federation starship then i would like to see the grittier side of starfleet.  an deeply flawed captain (maybe and alcoholic or something) in charge of an old ship like an excelsior or a miranda and in command of a bunch of delinquents who are just the bare minimum to stay in starfleet.  it would be nice to see the normal side of starfleet instead of the flagships and the finest crews all the time.  they get a bit boring and stale after awhile.  the TNG crew was boooooring which is why i preferred DS9.
