What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

Yep
. Sometimes real life errors or industry things will have an effect on ST lore. You have the option of either finding a way to rationalize it (as with the TMP Con-refit or the phaser-firing K'tingas in DS9) or overlook it (the D7/Ktinga mismash in DS9/VOY/ENT).
Personally I don't recognize ENT as a viable source

People DO take it as viable ?
I mean as much as it contradicts TOS and generaly makes the lore of VOY look stable .............

yes we do, and we have argued about it in another thread. whether YOU personally care for enterprise or not is not relevant. it is a canon source with equal weight to TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY -threshold

And we're likely to argue about again sometime, considering some have different views on what constitutes 'canon' regardless of what the official view states.

yup, i prefer to go with what memory alpha considers canon. and nothing else. their policy is pretty solid. even if some pages dont follow it.

I see cannon as pretty flexible. I warp stuff in my head just cause it makes more sense.
Like Star Trek V was just a in-universe fictional faux-autobiographical novel Captain Kirk was writing during the Ent A refit to kill time. That's pretty much the only way it makes any sense.
Enterprise was what happened to the timeline after Picard and Co. screwed up in First Contact and let people die and told everybody about the future.
Q kept things interesting on Voyager by not letting their stupid ass decisions get them killed.
"All Good Things..." is still going to happen... somehow... but with the Ent E.
You know, crap like that.

Umm.... ENT kinda contradicts TOS (DS9's TOS flashback episode too)

and? even if u take away every single ep of enterprise, there are still hundreds of contradictions flying around in canon, trek was always written with contradictions. I dont remember khan and the eugenics stuff, that was supposed to happen, but in voyager it didnt happen when they went back in time. Uh oh, lets throw out voyager too.
After u are finished removing all episodes that contradict earlier ones you will be left with 10 bottle eps of TOS and nothing else. U cant decide to ignore parts of canon cos they contradict earlier canon.
Maybe all good things was invented by q and he just lied to picard.

I prefer to consider it separately. So jj trek on its own, and the rest of trek on its own. They dont intermix at all.

if only star trek V ended with kirk having a dream.

Star Trek V could work as something written by an uninformed (or simply exaggerating) Federation civilian. It does have the right fanboy and hero worship parts to it.

I also like the interpretation that V shows that Starfleet is completely incapable of building anything that works and generally really damn useless at running their fleet due to the communism and all. SFDebris for the win.

star trek v has one of the worst examples of the enterprise always being the closest ship lol.
generations had it too. ships near earth that arent fully ready yet, but starfleet doesnt have anything else near its capital and giant ship production yards. billions of people dont even warrant 1 ship for emergencies. starfleet really is stretched thin.
