That was one of my favorites, but I still prefer my own.

@Adam C
I kinda like that one maybe if it was a little less spindly.

The Majel class seems to have had Tholians involved in the engineering section creation... And oh man... awfull pylon-placement on the nacelles. The Galaxy had them a little more rear too, but the Galaxy's nacelles are bigger and not that thin... it has a taste of being a bored burocrat who modeled a Star-Trek-ship with his coffee-saucer, a pen and a pencil as well as his mouse. This guy may only have sent it in for fun then; intended as a big practical joke.

i said that one too. because we know what the ent J is gonna look like, this one shows the change in lineage quite well. like the ambassador showed the change from excel to galaxy.

I don't know much about STO, but I like the 3rd place design better.
If anything in STO is seen or mentioned in a future non-reboot movie or tv series it will be. CBS said it themselves that whats in STO counts towards Trek canon.

I liked one of the runner up's attempt:

...and this one looks quite like a hammerhead shark...

The first of these two comes close to what I'd consider a "recreation of the Constitution in the Sovereign-era"...
The second one should immediately join weightwatchers. The saucer is stylish, but the rest of it is just too fat
These drunken klingon gunners who bravely guard their bloodwine-barrels will never miss its engineering section.

It's things like this that remind me to appreciate FO's subtlety when it comes to designing reasonable and good-looking ships.
Except for the original Descent, of course. That thing was hideous.

And 15 deflectors must have been very... deflecting...

I free trialed STO when it was first available publicly. Wandered a fan site's board to read what was posted. Good as well as bad. The overall impression I have of STO is the dev team was trying for World of Warcraft in Space. I haven't seen a single new design I liked or thought was appropriate. As to the fan voting for a new Enterprise, how much more obvious can a marketing ploy be? The second I heard about the contest and, "Vote for your favorite!", I knew something bad would be the result. And Boy, was I ever spot on.
Admittedly, the representation is a sketch and not a finished illustration. But this thing is just plain unattractive. It is also obvious to me the person who drew this does not have a connection to Trek. He did this as a way to promote himself, to get his name out there and visible to the hirers. It's part of a portfolio, not something done by someone who really enjoys and participates fully in all things Star Trek.
Something people forget when viewing them about things like this "contest": Games are usually developed to make money now. Very few games published anymore are done by gamers or even for gamers. They are done to promote the sale of the newest fusion-powered 4TB vidcard released just yesterday and placed exclusively in the New! Improved! Hyper-Drive Ultimate Game PC/Laptop which retails for the price of just one mortal soul. Batteries not included. Ya reckon this might be why new PC games are so few and far between? Because they've priced themselves out of the market by making sure not everyone who has an interest can afford to play?
Shame this thing will be unleashed upon an unsuspecting public. Even worse it will be viewed as Real Trek by a casual fan or browser. I'm not a Simon Pure FanBoy when it comes to the awful word, "canon". I rather like the JJprise. But there are places I won't go. And this thing was designed by and chosen to win by people who have only the tiniest of linkages to Star Trek. Gene, most days we really miss you.

That's the sad truth behind STO (and JJ's ST reboot).
Both projects managed to get Nimoy hired just to draw even the true Trek-fans in with more ease.
However. The movie by Abrams was entertaining and included many Trek-exclusive details only fans would get.
STO includes loveless designs, a stupid story and one-dimensional gameplay because you will almost always get involved in fights, basically never in true exploration or good and interesting storyarchs we were used to see on the first two shows on television. No politics, no diplomacy and no mystery - just shooting.
