pity you cant do that for stock sto stuff.

And you would be three months late.
Though actually according to Cryptic and CBS moreso the whole voting thing was for us since they went through ALL of the designs and picked on what they wanted anyways. Also, the ingame ship of the winning design will be fairly different than the sketch aswell.

Is this Star-Trek Online considered "canon"?
I don't know much about STO, but I like the 3rd place design better.

And ugly stuff like that being commonplace is one of many reasons why I let my STO account expire.
If STO were a regular game, I'd feel zero remorse about pirating it because it'd be unplayable without heavy moding to fix it.
( actually... on that note im half tempted to try to find A2 locally nad donate the price to flops... SOMEONE earned the cash, sure wasnt the folks that made A2 )

Good, that means that we can use the Century Class as Enterprise-F, right? As long as we have permission from whoever built the Century. By the way, has anything destroyed or decommissioned Enterprise-E in the canon timeline or in the Fleet Ops timeline? I believe it's 2403 in the roll-playing threads we've been doing.

STO as non-canon means anything can be used, unless a future film or series includes the ship.
I don't think anything has been mentioned of post-Nemesis Enterprise, at lest nothing I remember. It's probably still around under a new captain, though the average lifespan of an Enterprise don't make its chances promising.

you say "we", if u wanna use it in a mod you're releasing of course you'll need permissions from the creator. same applies for fleetops devs.
even if canon had something your mod could still have something else. like the enterprise E being akira class. you're not restricted to canon by law.
i personally prefer the century class as the ent f. but it also isnt canon.

People will now start shouting at me...
It's actually not that bad. Sure, we've seen much better designs - but also some quite horrible ones (STO has enough of those). Let's just say that I think it will be one of the better designs in that game.

True... Could have been worse.

Personally the century is a much better candidate, it has many familiar lines to it and never looks awkward at any angle. I really have always felt that the Enterprise should always feel like "coming home".
That "thing" winning is ridiculous. Its an ugly mish-mash of designs, and even though it has some familiar parts to it they arent exactly put on in a graceful way. the side profile alone makes it look awkward. Cryptic got it wrong by selecting the most "discussed" design - the very fact that there is a discussion means that it is controversial.

That's like saying the best turd wins a turd competition, even if it wins it's still crap.
And that sums up STO.

I'd kind of like the Descent Class to be the Enterprise-F.

had a good look whilst not quite ent-f material, looks like a really good futuristic fed ship based on the excelsior. Nothing can beat the design of the Galaxy Class in my opinion its simply incredible to this day.
