The interesting thing is to see how many people will pick top versus bottom frankly

Oh not this again. We all know that Star Trek would wupe Star Wars's scientifically implausible butt out of this timeline. Although I do like Star Wars as well.

Haha, i picked bottom! Bottom is much cooler. The top sucks, they will lose.
(Why am i the only one picking bottom then?)

WHY OH WHY do I always choose the losing side?

These discussions are always interesting, but in my opinion they're way too incompatible with each other. Star Trek and Star Wars are both awesome (in my opinion) but they rely on different things. For example, in Star Trek fleet battles are the norm, while in Star Wars land battles are at least as important. Also, Star Wars treats space battles more like naval battles. Though when it comes down to it, Star Wars would win, just because with the Force a Sith Lord made two stars go supernova to destroy enemy fleets. I'd like to see the Borg adapt to that. Though then there's time travel in Star Trek, plus Q...

The way I see it the Star Wars folks would get themselves plastered. The Feds would lead the pack and take out all the fighters with a combination of phaser sweeps and point defense targeting. After that they could launch a combination long range attack-gang up plan with some hit-and-run moves from the Klingons and Romulans. Those flimsy Star Wars shields won't hold a candle to disruptors and quantum torpedoes; and just wait until the Feds break out the tricobalts. Star Trek definitely wins hands down for big ship maneuverability. Battle droids of all kinds would easily be eliminated by area EMP blasts from Fed deflectors. The Scimitar could probably take on half the Imperial's Destroyers at once, ok, well maybe three at once if we stop Shinzon from using his planet killing super bio-weapon. We'd leave the Death Star to the Borg, who would surround it with tactical cubes and slowly start to assimilate it. The Death Star might be able to get off one or two shots before the Borg adapted. They would just beam the Emperor and Vader right into the assimilation chamber where they would be personally attended to by the Queen. Q would probably just sit back and enjoy the show; maybe he would go and toy with Vader and the emperor for a bit before the Borg got to them. Section 31 and the Tal'Shiar would be right in there causing havoc from the inside by posing as Jedi and Sith respectively. The Jedi however would take advantage of the situation and seize the opportunity to eliminate the Sith once and for and create dissension in the ranks. In the end the Star Wars folks loose due to poor fleet variety and stationary tactics.
Star Trek all day!

Now if it was good guys vs. bad guys that might be a bit different.

Well, if Thrawn could get any art from Star Trek, he'd lead Star Wars to victory. But I think it's strange to compare Star Trek and Star Wars technology without an basis for comparison.
