Sci fi Series?

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Well i have been taking a little break from watching Sci-Fi shows but im getting bored again and could use a diversion from school (besides FO, my Wii, MW2 and Facebook) Anyway i have watched all of DS9, various parts of TNG but never the whole thing, most of voyager, every episode of stargate, and i have seen part of BSG but it got kinda wierd for me. So i have been trying to decide what to watch next, so i thought i would ask you guys and see what you think? So any ideas?

Dircome, you've made a good choice. B)  And you should watch it, not only because it is worth watching, but you will feel like that it was time well spent.  Start from "The Gathering" and work your way up.  The pilot will seem a little campy, because it was made almost 20 years ago on budget not much larger than what DS9 spent on coffee runs during the week, but I promise you'll be glad you watched it.

Sadly, several of the actors died a few years ago.  I wanted to link these videos which honor their memory, both as a way to entice others to watch the series, and because they are simply very moving.

In Memory of Andreas Katsulas

In Memory of Richard Biggs

Disclaimer:  I am not responsible for any tears shed or strong feelings evoked by the watching of these videos. :P

I don't know about Babylon 5 (but I plan to watch it) but you should definitely watch FARSCAPE. It's very, very original not to mention fun.

Second that. B5. It has to be B5!

I grew up with this show and I still love it. It's not the special effects it's the story that made this show one of the best sci-fi shows I know. Epic is not even a description :woot:

Too sad Andreas Katsulas (G'Kar) and Richard Biggs (Dr. Franklin) left us a few years ago.  :(

Farscape?  Really?

how about Dr Who.  You can never go wrong with David Tennant.

in all fairness, i have friends who raved about Farscape, and i watched season 1 of it, watching Cam Mithcel, and Vala run around and it wasnt that bad an idea for a show.  HOWEVER, i started watching season 2 of Farscape (thank you Netflix) and i had to stop cause the stories have...  ...  ... worsened somehow.  i now think of it as Crappy Muppets In Space.

maybe it gets better later on, someday i shall try to watch the rest, but i still say there is nothing like our dearly departed 10th Doctor.

IMHO

I think this little 4 minute and 8 second video sums up the pure epicness of B5 really well: YouTube

Babylon 5 is on the first place in my list to.
But beside the named series there are some other very good ones

Serenity (to bad, just one Season and one Movie)
Space - Above and Beyond
Earth 2 (one season..)
Earth final Conflict (both SciFi but not in space)
Lexx (somehow strange)

Do you like Animes?

This one you might have to hunt for for thease  in a vid. store or netflix . but Space 1999 was not too bad  for its time ,considering it was made  during the late 70's.  Another  old  one is "Land of the Giants" .  Lastly the Classic  "Lost In Space " series
