Oh well, the Desktop Thread

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

republic commando, good choice, i recently ran through that game's campaign again, it was a really high quality sp game.

i finally bought myself a new desktop because no matter how much a laptop claims to be a gaming system, they never truly are, or more accurately, they never should be. all you end up doing is shortening the life of laptop componenets by putting them under such strain. ok if you can afford a new laptop every couple years, but i cant, so im gonna prolong my laptop's components by not gaming on my laptop.

Agreed.

I always wanted more though, the campaign is kind of short when you get right down to it; only three major missions. A sequel would have been nice, say set during Episode III so we can carry out Order 66.  :guns:

yeah, even on hard there was still all those spots for your allies to use their unlimited ammo from, made the game not last very long. i wish that there was a little more sneaking around and being covert, rather than being a run and gun death team.

i had to look up order 66 (not really a fan of star wars), wouldnt killing jedi be kinda hard seeing as they have lightsabres and mind powers? it would be harder than killing those bodyguard robots, but without the easy electro grenades to stun them. all the droids kinda went down easy to electro power. i loved getting the concussion rifle and meléeing super battle droids to death with its stun power.

That's weird...

Despite having ulimited ammo though, they would go down pretty quick sometimes. But I don't think there's a game where your allies don't have unlimited ammo.

Order 66 would be a tough one, but it would make for a very awesome last mission. They obviously couldn't put in a mission like that since the game came out before Episode III.

Either way, it's still one of the best games I've ever played, and it has replay value.

Is it a particular file type that's giving you trouble? Also what browser are you using? (I'll guess Chrome :cloak: )

It's only the image files posted on the Flops forums. But not all of them.
But it doesn't seem to be a specific image format.
I can only see the following images:
- The first post image
- 2nd page: dna42's image
- 4th page: Nebula's image
- 4th page: Blade's image
- 4th page: Njm's image
and my own image on page 5.

Yes my browser is Chrome. If I download the files, the windows viewer can't view it. I even tried loading it into GIMP. But with no luck.

Can you explain why?

true, but they provided such serious firepower and didnt use ammo. i always found it made the game a lil easy, they would stay alive long enough to do a lot of work, and they never died, cos any of your team could magically give them back half health, and there were many many health points to give them the rest.

i can replicate this.

firstly the op and dna's post on page 2 are still working because they are hosted on another site and are not attached their posts.

the ones that are attached were lost a while back. there was a bug in the forum, it wiped out many (not sure if all) attached images and many custom avatar pics. i think the forum reached its max storage space or something. anyway, fleetops.net isnt an image or file host so never count on posted files being there forever.

that also explains why the ones on the 4th page are still there, as they are recently uploaded.

oddly i can still download and open tyler's image from an early post, even though its attached and the forum doesnt give a preview for it. my own image was wiped, which is probably for the better as my desktop has changed and the computer i play fo on has changed too.
