Oh well, the Desktop Thread

no kidding lol. i find a few acceptable seeing as i dont have a desktop background to obscure. i only put icons there that im going to click a lot.

i do this mostly with the start menu and the quickstart panel.
normally i used icons, too, but since my netbok is running debian with openbox, i grew quite fond in an iconless desktop (as openbox cant display icons normally)

Yeah, I like to organize things, and therefore only use icons I need. Thats why I like the lock on Rocket dock.  They aren't verry distracting, and look pretty cool.  I just make icons for the things I use the most.  I can find everything else through 'My Computer' ect.

And I usually make my own icons for the dock I use.  It isn't that hard if you have one in color and a template.

Well either the links or just the names of everything you are using. I have used stardock products before but at the time i though that the customization stuff just made the computer slow.

Well I don't know about slow   I have 2 Hdds, 4GB ram, Duel-Core, and am only running a 32 bit os, so I have plenty of VM to spare.

anyway, I don't recommend winamp so no links for that .  it has alot of adds, and is not easy to use.  it only looks cool with that skin.

Rocket Dock

Skin Correct settings> http://i46.tinypic.com/1zvwps3.jpg I can give you my settings if you need them.  Oh, be sure to lock the items if you disable the popup feature.  it looks funny if you don't.

Icons (I can give you my custom ones too, including a HQ FO icon and some others I made.  Oh, btw, by icons I mean PNG's.  Rocket dock uses them and turns them into icons.  you just need to make sure you put the "Icons" in the folder in the Dock directory)


Start button changer I made my own, which I can also give to you, but it some with some nice ones. Its tricky to make your own, so if you need help, please ask.


Like I said, I won't link to Winamp, but you can find the links in the first page I linked to.

also you can now unpin tunngle as fo starts it by itself now.

Get your mind out of the gutter. There are plenty of other things to download illegally that aren't porn.

Yes, like the Star Trek Armada II and other old games which I'm too cheap to actually buy but would like to play. And how about all the lovely anime music and videos that are out there.

There's plenty of crap to download out there. And, we now know what Tyler spends most of his time on.

Wrong, it's actually anime, Star Trek and music videos I'm mostly on. I just like the old 'The Internet is for porn' idea that even the Breen know about.
