I Quit.

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

I just can't win, EVER. And I know alot of you are going to say to me "It's not about winning". BUT WHEN YOU LOSE NEARLY EVER TIME IT GETS ABIT ANNOYING.

And I got beaten by a NEWB. And I have been here for MONTHS.

And I know more of you are going to say "Practice". WELL I HAVE BEEN DOING. ALL THE TIME!!!
The reason I think I can't learn, and develope strategies, is because I have autism.

So I quit FO. I can't learn cos of my messed up brain, no point playing.

I guess I'll just move to Star Trek Online.

Way back when in 2004 my old roommate and I bought Madden 04 (so I guess it was 2003 then.).  We played a few games a day.  300 games later....I had only ever won 2.  However, my Madden skills increased so much, that I could play virtually anyone and kick their butts!!  :woot:

My best advice, practice makes perfect.  I tell my son that when he wants to quit a level in Mario Bro.  He keeps trying and dying....then when he wins he goes "Practice does work!  I did it!"  And just in case anyone would call me a bad parent for letting a 5yr old play video games...he gets an hour a day and only when he does well in school.  :sweatdrop:

You could still probably beat me :sweatdrop: and I have been here since beta 2(only on the forums for abt a year)

I applaud your parenting. My kids will be gamers as I am a gamer and was a gamer growing up. I like to think I turned out fine  :sweatdrop:

Seems the only children who are 'troubled' by games are at the hands of parents who either deny them the ability to play games, based on their own irrational blanket beliefs that they are 'bad'. Or parents who allow their children to play completely unsupervised for hours and hours...

Kudos to you for seeking equilibrium.

Thanks....though, I think my son is addicted to anything Mario Bro.  When he's not playing it he sings the songs and draws the characters....sometimes even cuts them out and plays with them.  Though now I think I may have turned him onto LEGO: Indiana Jones.  I downloaded the demo of that and its great, cause we can actually play it together and solve puzzles.

*Edit* I just realized I possibly derailed yet another thread......lol sry.

Hmm..... maybe we can make a FO-Lite release for those that can't handle regular FO. That might bring him back. ;)

Let's keep derailing it.

If you think that Mario Bros teaches nothing to children, I'll tell you what NOT to do.

Let them play Spore.

I brought a copy to a family meeting in Christmas 2008, to help entertain my 5 year old nephew and 7 year old niece. They still play nowadays, and my brothers, brother and sister to be exact and parents of said children, haven't spoken to me since then. Only my sister-in-law thinks that the game is moderately educative and doesn't think I perverted her son.

As for winning, I think I have won exactly zero MP games since I installed FO version 2. It's my fault ( and of my turtling tactics that don't work against humans ), but that doesn't prevent me from trying.

Even worse...Toon Town Online :whistling:

I wasted many summers, and lots of money on that game, as well as sucking cousins, and friends that were 14+ into that stupid, Childish game

It seems that online MP games are the most detrimental to a child's mind, aswell as to your wallet :(

Well there must be a good reason why you loose nuke...maybe it helps to read about the strategies given in the guide. Maybe you can provide replays of you games so we can analyze them and give better advises.

Overall I think it's just that he convinces himself he's already lost the MOMENT the teams are chosen.

Hey mate I have never played online Armada 2 or Fleet Operations. So if you want we could have a game sometime, if I can figure out how to get online as last time it just didn't work. I would bet you'd beat me hands down if we had a game. ;)

It depends.

If he, like me, insists in using turtling tactics, you might win.

I repeat it to myself like a mantra: "turtling doesn't work against humans". It doesn't matter. As soon as I get control of my faction, I go build turrets.
