I Quit.
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

I have had enough. I quit FO. I have just got beaten by a newb. I was the Dominion (Breen). He was Borg (avatar unknown). I'm sick to death with losing every time. I just can't win, EVER. And I know alot of you are going to say to me "It's not about winning". BUT WHEN YOU LOSE NEARLY EVER TIME IT GETS ABIT ANNOYING.
And I got beaten by a NEWB. And I have been here for MONTHS.
And I know more of you are going to say "Practice". WELL I HAVE BEEN DOING. ALL THE TIME!!!
The reason I think I can't learn, and develope strategies, is because I have autism.
So I quit FO. I can't learn cos of my messed up brain, no point playing.
I guess I'll just move to Star Trek Online.

You could play against the AI? Winning isn't the point of the game.

Winning is the point. Otherwise there would not even be games. Games would not have been invented otherwise. Fun is the secondary thing of a game.
And the AI is either too easy, or too hard.

Hey... look, I got my but kicked too many times but I still play! It is a matter of having fun! Besides, the RTS part of it means you need to strategize. You probably just hadn't worked up a strategy yet.

Nuke we've talked about this a number of times online.
You've got this strange attitude before the game even begins that you're going to lose. You never felt satisfied by the teams because you always thought someone was going to be an unfair opponent.
I don't mean to be preachy, but this thing you've got has nothing to do with FO or anyone else. This is about YOU, buddy. You take it all SOOOOO seriously and like it's life or death. You don't listen to your teammates in-game because you're too busy spouting about how something isn't fair or how there's just no chance.
I fail to see how STO is going to be any different ...

I consider Boggz one of the most wise members on this forum, listening to him will help. Trust me

I've been thinking.
Really the game was stalemate. The reason being: He was Probe spamming. I was Breen spamming. every battle at his base was stalemate. When I quit I had more to come, but I was getting bored. That game was 1h-2h long.
Also, I went with his request at the beginning, to go on a FFA map (3 players). The reason why he wanted that was, and these were his words: "I need the resources". If we were on a 1v1 map, well then. All I needed to mass make Breen cruisers was my home moon pair, and one expansion. He needed many moon pairs to make his THREE Assimilation Matrixes, and spam Probes.
So, I have forgot your username, but lets have a rematch. 1v1 map.
We'll see who is superiour then.

I guess your right.
In real life I am a very negative person.
"The glass is always half empty".
I have just had a life of failing. Even in the small things.
I know this is just a game, but still.
I won't quit.
Thanks for knocking some sense into me.
Also, look at my post above this one.

See this is the wrong attitude ... It's not about who's superior. It's about having fun, dude!
I know you don't see it that way, but think about what FleetOps is! FleetOps is a great Real-Time Strategy game that lets you play with the Star Trek ships that we all know and love! You get to match up Birds-of-Prey with Akiras and Romulan Warbirds against Sovereigns without having the SUPER micro-intensive playstyle and small ship numbers that Legacy and such have (those are great games too though

You're just barkin' up the wrong tree, mah man. I have a distinct feeling that you're a pretty young guy and that you're out here to prove something. I'm only 25 but I play this game because I just like to see cool fleets engage each other and blast each other to smithereens. I hate playing games against people I KNOW I'm going to beat because it's not much fun. Winning doesn't matter to me.
Example:
I know that the best method to win with Klingons right now is to just spam K'vort Class Cruisers. That is not fun to me. I know what will happen; I know what will blow up; and I know how it will go down. I'd much rather risk losing and build a couople Kvorts backed up with Qaw'Duj, B'rels, a Vor'cha or two and only resort to Spamming if it's because the game is late and I simply just need to field TONS of ships to stay competetive.
Why is your game taking 2 hours on a 1 v 1? Did you guys set a rule saying you couldn't attack until a certain time or what? The more resources you have available the more spamming will happen. That's just the way RTS games work.

We had not agreed on any rules.
He just wanted a big map, so he could get alot of res.
And I know what you mean. Seeing many ships is awesome. I like it. And I have forgot what I was gonna say. Anyway, I'm not trying to prove something. Well, maybe to myself. That I dont just FAIL at nearly everthing I do. Even games. I like to have fun, as you say, but as I have already said, I hate losing, time, after time, after time, after time, after time. Then maybe one win (Most likely on a team game, where I did next to nothing, and it was really my teamates who did the winnning), then I will lose again, and again.
I want to have fun. Winning, once in awhile can be fun. Oh I dunno.
Stock A2 was good. I had FUN on multiplayer on that. 8472 ftw. No res problems.
Thanks Boggz.
I can't believe I'm saying this but, Anyone up for a game? I'll try and not be a complete git this time.

Boggz the diplomat. I like it.
I really like this game, because it shows two vetern players who have stalemated each other and never gave up. Mort ends up winning, and he thought he would lose the whole time. This is the kind of game where you're sweating, because it gets really intense. But even Dom had fun in that game.
If you're looking to be competitive, my advice is to have some 1v1s with some good players and have them see what you're doing, and they can help correct things.
Also, some races right now only need to spam their cheapest interceptor, so being beaten by "a noob" really isn't a big deal. I've been beaten by "noobs" (I hate that word), and I consider myself a decent player, but I've been constantly playing romulans to see if there was any way to salvage them competitively. Then I'll pick random and get klingons or feds and end up wiping multiple players single-handedly on multiple fronts like it was nothing. Once the balance comes back, things will get better.
Just make Boggz your buddy and chat with him about the different things of the game. I'm sure you'll get it. Never give up! Never surrender!

Games were invented to have fun... cheating was invented to win.

Hehe. Thanks
And now I remember when I thrashed Mort twice in a row. Good times.
BTW, let me guess where you got "Never give up! Never surrender!" from.

Yeah this is a really excellent game from 3.0.7 where two great players tried very hard to take the upper hand on one another. Mort is especially excellent at making sure to always be on the offensive. Notice how he was losing most of his base and yet still had his fleet out there destroying everything of Dom's that he could? That's how he really ended up winning: by keeping his attack force on the attack and ranking them up. He had some veterans by the end that Dom just couldn't kill. When he lost his structures he hid them when he rebuilt.
But even Dom had fun in that game.
Hahaha I love how you put that in there. Dom knows a good game even when he loses

Wise I may be, but I also try to be oodles of fun. I love to send my Klingon ships to their deaths in aggressive attacks even if it might be a bit of a poor choice. It's FUN! They're Klingons! Sometimes in multi-player games you can actually fool an opponent with your aggressiveness. If your B'rels are being chased by a few Shrikes and suddenly you turn on them you can sometimes fool them into believing that you've got cloaked reinforcements or more ships coming and make THEM turn. RAWR!

That's what's fun for me
