Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

The first few pages of this thread are filled with insightful and meaningful conversation.  I suggest that it be trimmed to Clintsat's post and the rest thrown out.

The vast majority of data suggests that relaxed gun control laws reduce crime.  You can't count and compare it because the crimes these laws prevent DON'T HAPPEN.  The rare cases where a legally owned gun kills somebody receive MASSIVE amounts of media attention because they're so rare, while illegal guns hurt people every day.

I think it's hilarious but a bit sad that Dominus decided to troll, while Tokra made a meaningful contribution to the conversation but he's the one that people get mad at  :sweatdrop:

I think it's funny you didn't understand my posts Tryptic, and many of the people here didn't either :). I think it is giggle worthy that some think it is spam  . I think it's also highly amusing how you took the opportunity to say things without providing any evidence other than your opinion. I also think it is hysterical that for the entire rest of the length of this thread I chose to post now again. Lastly I think it is downright rolling on the floor, laughing my tail off, silly, the amount of stereotypes that have been perpetuated here.

in germany we got a very strict weapon law. Result is that up to 60% of the weapons in germany are illegal.
actually even the historical fencing, which im training (the trainer is a Policeguy that trains other Policeguys in self defence etc) is quite close to be forbidden because we acutally train with longsword, dussak, rapier and so on. The weaponlaw went a bit to far here ...  :(

here weapons are illegal always if you have intent to use them.

owning a knife obviously is legal, as we need to cut food.

carrying a knife on the street isnt.

owning a sword is fine, taking it out isnt.

if you took a power cable out with the intent of fixing a friends TV, and used it to stop a coincidental mugging, you are fine. if u took it out with the intent of using it as a weapon, its a crime.
