German language

How do you guys type in German do you have diff keyboards or something.

yeah more or less. we have basicly the same keyboards. i think the differences are that the z and the y key are switched, we have ä ö ü buttons and that some symbols are at a different place

alt+148 = ö
alt+154 = Ü


etc etc

same goes for french accents:

alt+133 = à

etc etc

Hallo,
ich komme auch aus Deutschland.
Wenn hier so viele Leute deutsch sprechen, warum gibt es dann keine deutsche Übersetzung von FO? Ich glaube für Version 2.?.? gab es sowas.
Ich denke viele Leute die kein Englisch sprechen (oder zu faul dazu sind) würden es mögen.

when there are so much german speakers, why is there no german translation of FO? I think for FO Version 2.?.? existed something like this.
I think a lot of people who can't speak english (or who are to lazy) would like it.

Jo, für eine der 2er Versionen gab es sowas. Einer der User hier hatte das meiste übersetzt und ich hab's dann korrekturgelesen und wir haben manches nochmal überarbeitet...

War aber eine Sauarbeit.

Wenn jemand Lust dazu hat, bitte.

Yes, something like that existed for one of the 2.X versions. One of the users here translated most of it and I proofread it and we reworked some of the translations together.

Was a huge load of work.

If someone wants to do that, go ahead.


Edit: Funny, now I remember the name of the user I think, it was LtCdr.

I for one would love to see bilingual posts for those who would be willing.  I've learned some German, but since I don't have a place to practice it, I've forgotten the bulk of it.  It would give me a chance to re-learn it, and maybe even try to muddle through a few bilingual posts of my own so that I can improve.

Just please remember to write in English as well so that the rest of us can understand.

And what is with German-Aczents? Even as a German you get a minor brain damage...

Those are not German accents, they're dialects.
Dialects are almost languages of their own.

A German speaking English with an accent;
that would be a German accent for example.


Das sind keine Akzente, das sind Dialekte.
Dialekte stehen kurz davor, eigene Sprachen zu sein.

Ein deutscher Akzent wäre es, wenn ein deutscher Englisch
mit entprechendem Akzent sprechen würde.
