filefront closing?

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

It has a massive online community built around it. It is important to a lot of people. Just because the site is nothing to you, doesn't mean everyone shares your opinion.

I'm certainly sad its closing.:crybaby: Its been my favorite D/L site for almost two years now. :crybaby: :crybaby:  Its also where I learned to Mod.  What I can't figure out is that it was supposed to close on the 30th right?  If so then Why are the files still up for download?   http://armada2.filefront.com/files/Armada_2/Ships;764

Personally, I'm wondering if they are just going to leave the site and not update it.  I really don't think its an April fools Joke though.

I agree with Mega about STG :D

If a community is truly important, it'll stick together.  So if filefront closes, the community will have its own forum somewhere.

As for people not sharing my opinion....they should...I am all knowing.  jk.  I know what you're trying to say.  I just wanted to know what the uproar was about.

The site seemed to go on and off sometimes, BC Files downloads are back off, but Armada2 Files and the forums work (for now).

yea, but someone has to create a place where that community can come together and it's not that easy to. though the filefront sites where a bit outdated they had everything you need to inform visitors about new modifications, had an quite easy to remember site url and had of course a big platform for files that can handle thousands of downloads at once in their backyard.
you can not do that with a freehost

Yah, as far as I can see there are multiple sites offering to take on all the files from A2.  Even though this seems like a good thing, really all it does is spread out the community further. :(  What we really need is a large central site that can be much like the old a2 files, and we need to let everybody know about it.

I think they tried.

However: Star Trek: Armada 2, Star Trek: Armada 2 Downloads - Keep the files coming again!

I will upload the missing FO patches asap when I'm back from school.
