It has become painfully clear to my enemies that my klingon rush in the start of the game is a guaranteed win, i can make ships almost x2 faster than everyone else because my star base makes ktinga's while my field yard makes Brel's, I can then cloak all the ships and hit anywhere on the map and stealth very quickly losing hardly any ships and causing huge damage meaning games are over very quickly with very few casualty's.

So what needs to be changed, the poll made should be able to let you vote for 3 options if you so wish, if you have another idea post it below.

What Klingons need is all Combat ship with multiple weapons, Non-combat ships with at least one weapon. Also more powerful but slower fireing weapons than other races (except the Borg). That is the most Klingon thing I can think of.

I remember reading somewhere that in v3 you won't have the k'tinga, so maybe the stabase won't build ships anymore.

Aye, after extensive testing it is nigh on impossible to defeat this opening. Its a default win for any competent player. The only way I can think of getting remotely close to beating it is to start as Feds and use many Sabre class ships with a venture accompanying, that way you can see the (if decloaked) enemy approaching and stay out of range of all their weapons, however this is very micro intense while the Klingon start requires very little skill whatsoever.

It is gamebreaking, and with the tournament coming up it needs to be hotfixed or patched in some way.

No K't'inga? But thats a very good (and widely used) Klingon ship.

No no no... I believe you still get the k'tinga... but only when you choose the cargo ships to jettison their stuff. You just can't build them anymore (instead we get another ship)  :thumbsup:

Ah, good. I was scared that they removed it. Though Vor'cha Class is my favourite Klingon ship, I still like the K't'inga and couldn't imagine a game without them.

I mean I love my blitz attacks but it is  a case of i can double my ship production with out having to pay for a second ship yard, The next game i do i will play with out using the ktinga's from the starbase and see how i fair.

For the tourny, we could just say no Klingons so no one can use that strategy if nothing else is proposed.

wait no, how am i meant to play? I play as klingon's, we just did a game where i built no destroyers from the starbase and it seemed to even out the build rate, the main problem then which is a problem with all the races was my destroyers where laying waste to fleets of cruisers and battleships, Skitzeh teched up and teched up loads but it made no difference to my destroyers they did what the name suggests and just destroyed him.[br]Posted on: 03-08-2008, 02:25:43

try being the klingons agiasnt me and i bet your rush attack doesnt work...

well as long as im not dominion... they take too long for me to start off with but with any of the other races i bet if you tried to rush me you would loose...

i admit the game needs balancing but its not unplayable at all and if your a good player the klingon rush attack wont be a problem for you...

moved to online gaming as this primarily affects multiplayer

the issue was already adressed and fixed in v3. The Klingon Starbase is still able to produce the k't'inga successor k'keajQ, but its balanced now. The complete balancing of the preview release was redone, nearly no formula has been left untouched. As there was only a very short testing phase before the preview release some glitches have found their way into the release. The result of this poll is still interesting for feedback reasons :)

One option would be to  make the Klingon (D-7 Katinga ) combat ships from the Statbase more expensiveless, less  powerful  and longer build time as an option.
