Heh whatever.

@Marian - I say old chap! What you be saying about our spiffing langauge? If one cannot understand one other's language, then one should visit one other's country and learn the tongue :D

@redman.

In the title, it is supposed to be 'Dear noobs' not 'Dear NOOB's'

The main mistake there is the 's when it should only be s  ^-^

I think more people skip the guide because it's not really easily accessible from the main page.  In all seriousness, if I want to go to the guide, I just go to Dom's sig and click on it.  I only know its here because I've been around awhile.  Maybe if Optec or Doca or whoever manages the website would put a link to it on the main page, more "noobs" would know about it.  There's a lot of real estate that maybe a big flashy button could be put on.

LOL  Will spellcheck even pick up errors like that?  I thought it was just a matter of intelligence.

Well, obviously it is not that easy. I'm seriously thinking about translating some of the basic stuff, the whole guide would be pretty time consuming though. It has nothing to do with "not wanting" to read English  :rolleyes:. I know at least 3players in the community who have a hard time in understanding English, either because of their age or because of their bad education.

And what prevents these people to learn english better? Its not that hard...but even not trying is  :whistling:

there is always google translate, sure it makes mistakes but with a bit of common sense you can easily tell what somebody is trying to get at

That's a pretty rude and arrogant thing to say and shows just how little thought has gone into that comment. English is actually one of the hardest languages to learn, heck most people that have it as their first language can't use it properly.

I understand where you coming from about how hard language barriers can be, but just because you speak English, doesn't mean that everyone else has to. English isn't even the most widely spoken language depending on what form of measurement you use. And I wonder how many languages you speak fluently.

Fair point and call. Apologies for straying off the topic. Had a big week in the labs and now have a ton of vibration data to deal with.

I do agree with your initial post of somehow getting new players to understand the rules and etiquette

for me this works both ways to be honest, i have been in games over the last week with noob's where experienced players have rushed noobs or bullied them when they are being taught a build order or counter, ruining the game for everyone to be honest :/

i laughed a little at the vibration data, im sorry my mind is dirty :)
