Well, there can also be new eraudi class ships for either or both avatars.

And obviously warp in options are limitless.

Wasn't picards old ship stargazer a constellation class? I would like seeing that one.

Although it is nothing even close to a support ship in my eyes. It would have to be a destroyer slash cruiser I would think.

I really disliked the aegian class from a2.

I'm just as excited about the new specials as anything though.

This patch is gonna be huge though it seems pretty clear.

I'm thinking middle or late Feb it comes out. Maybe early early March.

The Constellations are so outdated that even in TNG they were being used for target practice. As Ray mentioned, they would make acceptable Section 31 ships, but nothing beyond that.

And the Aegian was literally the only good thing to come from Armada 2. The only. Damn. Thing.

Constellation not constitution, right?

Stargazer. With four warp nacelles.

I'm not arguing with you... maybe it is way out dated, but just wanted to make sure we aren't talking about constitution.

I think it would be a sweet ship to have.

I remember it from Birth of the Federation, that thing was a beast in that game. Heavy destroyer, could beat most heavy cruisers. Fast little ship too.

Lol, yes, this is true. But with the Excelsior and Miranda MKII designs, it'd be nice to see a Constitution MKII, they could breathe new life into it like they did with the other two old ships. Wishful thinking though.

Constitution MKII == Ambassador

Redshirt wrote:The Achilles has been vetoes god knows how many times, and the Cheyenne, Niagara, and Springfield are all older designs. It's almost guaranteed that it'll be a Fleet Ops original design (which means a good original design, unlike most others), but on the off-chance that it's a known class, I'd be most excited for the Aegian class.

I think the Achilles was mentioned as a possible mixed tech because with the dominion war layout it'd be far too powerful. Scaled down with the new offensive profile I'd consider it a possibility though.

Looking at the classes i mentioned i see i forgot the New Orleans. The Cheyenne, Niagara, Springfield and New Orleans are indeed older designs, but so is the Norway.

The Aegian is another option and although it is a game classic i am uncertain what role it'd have with several science vessels (remore, canaveral and norway) already in.

With science ships being proposed i think the Olympic is right beside the Aegian as fan favorite holding the no.1 position.

Will Norway and Nova be available in Cassiopeia as well? That would mean it gets quite full for Mason in there.

I understand that these yards are on the basic tech tree for the federation so avatar specific units will be added. It may be possible that the avatar units will be distributed between several yards.

Yup. Was good in her time, but mostly useless in the 2360s. Interestingly, an article from Star Trek: The Magazine (written by Rick Sternbach) listed its mission statements as "long-range sensor analysis within threat territories, communications, intelligence gathering, deployment and retrieval of cargo and stealth shuttles, general science and patrol duties." If Section 31 ever gets a ship, this should be it.

Hmm. I really like the ship as far as design and everything goes though.

Yeah, hopefully an updated version maybe for something along sabre or monsoon/intrepid then when section 31 comes out.

I believe that Section 31 is a future avatar choice, but I may be conflating dev comments with half-memories of that old Section 31 Avatar mod that was released a long while back.

I like the design as well, but I would much rather see a new design paying it homage than some creatively bankrupt "Contellation II" nonsense. Or, I should add, a old-style Constellation Q-ship would be nice; that would probably be the best choice altogether.

I had hoped Mons and Intrepids would be split up, but I do hav confidence the ships will be more balanced so that a Cassiopeia yard (got the spelling right the first time, I'm liking that name) start won't be inherently inferior.

Now that support ships are tougher, I don't think it matters as much. Additionally, the Cassiopeia Yard gets the Remoore early - which, unless much has changed, is one hell of a ship. In all likelihood, what we will have is one di-heavy yard and one tri-heavy yard.

The guide says that there will be a Star Fleet Intelligence Avatar that will make good use of sneaky stuff. I am pretty sure that Section 31 will not be an avatar(I remember hearing that anyway - does not mean that I am remembering correctly). If anything it will be a minor faction available for map placement.

SFI would actually be a better choice than Section 31 (despite the latter's notoriety), so I'm cool with that.
