Dircome wrote:sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttt!!!!!!!, but since you guys have figured out how to mod the interface is it possible to include a button for the federation to warpin ships and show the cooldown time???
Every one of the warpin ships already include a build button. Use the map editor, and place the Mickenly yard on the map. You will see what I mean.

odf wise integration is quite easy. you just set the weapon icon position in the craft odf, no modifications to the weapon odfs are necessary.
of course you have to define sprites for the weapon icons and 'top view' of the vessel in the sprite tables, but thats about it. not harder than to add a wireframe or weapon button sprite

but still, Could you guys add a set of blank buttons into the new patch? It would save a lot of work when updating our personal additions.

Dominus_Noctis wrote:Actually I think that they are leaving it out. In the last update the Devs said that there would no longer be faction specific command buttons
If thats true im quite disappointed as the current 3.0.7 faction icons are well done. Losing that to grey generics I'm rather astounded as too why?

I agree. Faction specific colors and such are what brings us even farther away from stock A2

I think the faction buttons are being removed because it looks strange when some buttons on a captured ship still show the signs of the original owners style.
Why they just couldn't adapt those 'shared' buttons to fit the new owner is beyond me, it has to be quicker than redoing every single button in game.
On the other hand, why not leave it like that? Neither the HMS Bounty (Kruge's BoP), nor DS9 had their interface changed to LCARS. Dukat's BoP also still has Klingon controls.

They way FleetOps keeps going it might grow out of it's original idea and be thrown into it's own game LOL. Either way these new addions get better and better.

yes, there won't be race specific button backgrounds with the next patch. the main reasons for unifying the button design is that they are now easier to identify when buttons are activated (alert states, weapon toggles). with the old buttons images partly didn't fit in the designed borders and we had to reduce size of the images representing their function. as the main purpose of a button graphic is just that - to represent it's function - we've designed a borderless 'neutral' button. i liked the race customized buttons as well, but i think you will like the new ones even better when you have you have played a game or two using them.

As long as they aren't stone slabs, they probably will. How will they fit in with the interface?

How is there a problem with that currently? You can easily tell what's active and what isn't when they change color and usually image...

You'll have to guess, based on how much of the image is visible.

Nice addition, it will definitley add another layer to micro management. I'm curious though if another feature could be added to individual ship displays, it's a bit of a fluff addition I suppose but it would be rather neat if a counter could be added to show how many kills a unit has achieved. Help keep track of your "Aces" and maybe even aid in tracking unit promotion advancement. Just a thought I had.

Yep we thought about a kill counter too
i will note it down
You can see the ship status from the image. If you want a detialed report with the precise percentage, you can just hover the system and the tooltip will tell you
