Awesome, can't wait to play when I get up, it's 4 and for some reason I can't fall asleep, well cept for the reason that my house is really really hot right now.... Anyway it looms to be Fun, tho I must admit you have me a little worried that ECM is gone, I always liked the protective ring that meant your ships wernt being shot at as much....

Oh, right. We are currently in the process to redo mixed-tech, that's why the current mixed-tech stuff is changed often and I forgot to add small bugfixes :sweatdrop:

I just want to say thanks again, guys.  Point defense really sounds cool, and I can't wait to try this one out.  Thanks again for the Christmas present. ^-^

unintended. the sound file of the shell had an altered (non stock) hardcoded filename in fleet operations (shellstr.wav). with 3.1.5 this has been reverted to be stock again, too (Shellsd0.WAV) but is now made configurable through the RTS_CFG.h. we forgot to add that change so it reverted to the hardcoded default which of course now points to a file that doesn't exist. we'll fix that :)

Making it a researchable ability, when most ships could probably shoot torps down with single pulses at 500 paces, is a little strange. But then the Precise volley would be just as strange in the same place, and you can't have 2 specials available by default.

Oh yeah; does it use the regular phaser hardpoints and appearance?

You just took all of the fun out of the Fuid Nebulae.

I like the menu sound imporvements and the various bug fixes though.
