Either a Risner ship or a Mixed-Tech. When I added the Eximius, I made it a Federation/Romulan ship as an additional Mix-tech exclusive that didn't replace an existing ship.

Maybe a Klingon M-T? It looks slightly agressive.

yeah, that sounds good.  it has some pretty cool forward cannons, which might come in handy.  Maybe it has klingon type disruptors?

yup, guns is a klingon thing.

giving it all pulse weapons would be interesting as feds arent pulse users. so it adds a twist without changing them.

maybe 2 quantum pulses and 2 brel pulses.

well, it does have phaser strips and a photon pod, so I would just give it a bunch if light weapontry.  like saber phasers, b'rel pulse and some light torpedo.  They would be scaled down, but they would look that way.  Maybe it has the ability to swap phasers for stolen/experimental klingon pulse cannons? :woot:

too many guns. id limit at 2 weapon types.

i wouldnt mix pulses with torps

maybe have a switch toggle. for a small cost switch from pulse mode to torp mode.

each mode gets a weak phaser. maybe 25% of total damage in phaser. and then the rest is made up by the other weapon.

so when u face big stuff u go for torps, when u go for small stuff u go for quantum pulses.

The cost sounds better, but what if it still replaced the phasers, but got a like 40% decrease in shield strength.  Maybe the klingon weapons disrupt shield capabilities. So that way, when you go into 'assault mode' your weapons would be pwnage at med-close range, but the ships shields wouldn't stand up to larger ships attacks.

What does everyone else think?

Shields for weapons sounds like a trade you'd get from a Klingon influence. Starfleet is kinda shield-heavy anyway, so it could probably still survive.

Just an update on this, that it is still gonna get finished soon.  Along with it, I am doing the century for TCR(if he still wants it) and the Excalibur.  Here is a shot of the Excalibur with newly added glows, and a texture mod. In fact, the Excalibur is almost completely finished. odf's and all.  just needs to be updated to 3.1.4. :thumbsup:

The solid red bussards(and on the back) could use some color depth cause they are like sore thumbs right now.

yeah, I agree.  I need to work on them a bit.  I only realized it after I finished adding the glows. :lol:

Looks a lot better than the by now very old textures on that model. However, it still doesn't fit in the FO-optics if you ask me. The grey parts could be a little darker and the pylons for example could be changed.

The grey areas are already in the same league as FO ships.

yeah, the only way to make it more like FO ships is to decrease the contrast, and I"m pretty happy with how it looks atm.  I"m trying to recreate the technique charles used in that PotD to make the nacelles.  It is actually turning out pretty well.

Yep, done with that.  Just need to make sure its ok with him and I"ll add it to my future FO release pack.

Heres a pic of the result.  Turned out great.
